Cancellation of bridge to Singapore

(VERSI BAHASA MALAYSIA DI AKHIR ARTIKEL INI)

I have been asked to please expose all that I know about the misuse of the Rakyat’s money.

In response to the above request I would like to identify initially four of the instances where the Government of Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has misused public money.

What I write here would not be based on speculation or suppositions or possibilities. They are the things which are public knowledge and can be verified.

I need to explain in detail. So I will deal with one subject at a time.

However, I list below the four specific instances;

1. The cancellation of the bridge to replace the Malaysian part of the Johore Causeway

2. The postponement of the double-tracking and electrification of the railway line from Johor Baru to Padang Besar

3. The sale of M.V. Agusta for one Euro

4. Wang Ehsan which has been expended on Terengganu which the new Menteri Besar claims is not Wang Ehsan but Federal Fund.

Cancellation of the Bridge to Singapore

The Singapore Government had not objected to the building of the Malaysian bridge to replace the Malaysian half of the causeway.

This bridge would be 25 metres above the water to allow for small ships to pass through after removal of the Malaysian half of the causeway. The Second Link is also 25 meters above the water surface. So the vessels can pass through the Tebrau Straits without obstruction by the causeway.

This bridge is very essential as the traffic in Johor Baru has increased and there is a permanent traffic jam caused by the North-South flow to and from the causeway and the East-West flow between the Eastern and Western parts of Johor Baru. An elevated road is needed to be built above the East-West traffic for access to and from the causeway. Such a road would result in a part of the Johor end of the causeway becoming useless as the elevated road must land some distance from where the causeway joins the mainland.

A full-length bridge to Singapore would enable a gradual rise for lorries to climb and boats to pass underneath after the causeway is removed. Since Singapore refused to jointly construct a straight bridge to replace the causeway, a bridge with 25 meters clearance for boats to pass has got to be long enough for lorries to make a gradual climb.

The answer was to lengthen the bridge by a curved design. As for the railway line a swing bridge can be opened or closed for ships or trains to pass through.

To cut a long story short work on the curved bridge was stopped so that Dato Seri Abdullah’s Government could offer to sell 1 billion cubic metres of sand, and overflight rights for Singapore military aircraft over Johor Baru if Singapore agreed to a straight bridge.

Someone stood to make a lot of money selling 50 million cubic metres of sand per year for 20 years to Singapore for land reclamation. This was a very attractive offer as the reclaimed land can sell for 3,000-5,000 Singapore dollars (about RM6,000-RM10,000) per square metre. The Singapore Government stood to make an enormous amount of money selling this land.

They therefore agreed to the straight bridge. That dredging sand from the seabed would cause erosion of the coast, destruction of fish breeding grounds and deprive Johore fishermen of their livelihood were not of concern to the Government of Dato Seri Abdullah.

Fortunately the Johor people misbehaved.

They objected to selling sand and overflights.

Abdullah frustrated that his scheme was blocked then punished the Johore people by cancelling the bridge project altogether. No straight bridge, no curve bridge either.

The result is that more than RM1 billion have been wasted building the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities, foundation and work on a new railway station, pilings and preliminary works on the road linking the CIQ to the bridge and compensations to the contractors because of the cancellation of the projects.

The CIQ building is now a white elephant, unused and yet have to be maintained costing hundreds of thousands of Ringgit a month.

Clearly Dato Seri Abdullah has wasted public money. All because he was angry with the Johor people for not enabling one billion cubic metres of sand to be sold to Singapore and the profits thereof.

Pembatalan Jambatan Bengkok

Bagaimanapun saya senaraikan empat perkara spesifik;

1. Pembatalan pembinaan jambatan menggantikan tambak Johor di sebelah Malaysia

Assalamualaikum Tun,

I pray and hoping ALLAH will give Tun an excellent health and peace of mind so that we could share and understand Tun’s thoughts and point of views.

I believe Tun’s revelations give us excellent alternative views toward any issue that normally champion by the oppositions.

As a general citizen, I would be very please if Tun could share with us Tun’s views on some of agreements between the concessionaires and the government. The agreements which the oppositions claim are very one sided such as;

1) Highway Concessionaire like the one between PLUS and the Government
2) Independent Power Providers (IPP) like YTL Power and the Government, which many parties claim these IPP have sucked our petroleum subsidies for their millions of Ringgit profits if not billions.
3) And many other agreements which Tun could come across (the other readers could suggest if they have one!)

I believe these agreements were penned down when Tun was in power. And, I understand most of the information on the agreements are classified under OSA. But maybe, Tun could come up in a way that Tun will not wallop by Pak Lah under OSA.

My hopes of discussing these agreements are;

1) Is there any truth of all the claims that they are one sided agreements? One for all, we could at least understand the facts.
2) If the fact of sided agreement is true, perhaps the discussion will help on how the responsible citizens like Dato’ Mukhriz could highlight the Government and come out with constructive recommendations to amend the agreements in order to minimize the burdens of normal citizen like us. It is a pain in the ass to pay “an always increased toll, every year” since at the end of their closing business year, they declare hundreds of millions Ringgit profits.
3) If indeed these agreements were not supposed to be penned down in a way now, perhaps Tun could also comes up with the ideas to correct the one sided agreement – for the sake of normal citizens like us.

And, I still believe Tun is the most rightful person to dig out these agreements as all happened during Tun in power.

We love you Tun.

Wassalam.

Talking about misused of public money perhaps you, as our prime minister for the past 22 years, can now suggest that the accounts of Petronas be tabled in Parliament and make them public from the day of their commencement of business until now.

Let the public see for themselves how much our country has earned from our oil and how the money are spent.

What say you, tun?

Tun Yang Dikasihi,

Kami, rakyat biasa pun tahu..

Jangan risau kerana Tun bukan sendirian.

Dear Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, it is clear that Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in terms of his decision making can bring Malaysians and Malaysia down faster than any other leader can. I have thus far listed 20, since the Malaysian 12th General Election.

We know that this list is growing, daily. I keep this as a record so that we shall know how many destructive decisions Abdullah Ahmad Badawi shall continue to make soon, before he prefers to step down later.

Your post on the "Cancellation of bridge to Singapore" by Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is but a telling, that he is a man who can be devastating in terms of decision making, since before, and 2006 in particular.

Here is a bit of information to our refreshing of recollection and reflection on Abdullah Ahmad Badawi decision making:

KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- The government has
decided to stop the construction of the bridge to replace the Johor Causeway that links Malaysia and
Singapore, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced Wednesday.

He said the government had also decided to stop all negotiations pertaining to the bridge.

Construction of the bridge, also known as the "scenic bridge" began
early this year, to replace half of the Johor Causeway on the Malaysian side.

"The government's decision was made after taking into account the voices and sentiments of the Malaysian people as a whole especially on the supply of sand and air space," he said in a one-paragraph statement.

Surely Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is not blind, yet dumb as he truly is, some Malaysians are wondering as to why other leaders and ministers can either keep quiet, or arrange words in much cognitive dissonance to support decisions he made.

Nice to meet TUN DR.MAHATIR
and bloggers again.

I do have high respect for SINGAPORE government for their efficiency in administration
all this while, but I do not understand why they refused to this idea when the new bridge is mean to ease traffic congestion , to bring prosperity to both sides , and to protect ecology system, this ideal is wonderful based on logical and scientific
decision. The causeway build during the colonial time does not serve these purposes well. The ideal which is a win win case. Why should they reject,is it because of their PRIDE in HOKKEAN "驚輸”(KIASU)。

Allow me to deviate from this topic
and comment on your great contribution to Malaysia Economy
based on some data available to me

If not because of your good decision ,I think our depence on foreign on refined oil will be even greater, eventhough TUN may be controversial,I still give you more than 90marks out of 100.Terima kasih Kepada kerana membawa kemakmuran kepada Malaysia dan Singapura kerana berani memperkembangan perniagan Petronas.

Salam Tun,
Lagi pendedahan yg membuka mata kami..teruskan!!
Saya nampak AAB melakukan segala yg dibantah rakyat berdasarkan nasihat s/usaha sulit politik & kewangannya yg memang mahu menjahanamkan negara & meranapkan UMNO supaya rakyat menyokong pembangkang yg akan diketuai AI.
Ceritakan ttg peranan Nala
dlm industri perfileman di Tivolli Villa yg dibintangi beberapa org yg
kurang terkenal bersama bintang utamanya! Ceritakan ttg bagaimana isteri bintang ini pernah beberapa kali melarikan diri meminta bantuan setelah diterajang apabila
'bersuara' membantah tingkah laku suaminya. Itu dulu, kini si isteri pula menjadi pemimpin pembangkang yg memperjuangkan suaminya!
Melayu mudah lupa! Adakah kita mahukan perwatakan sedemikian menjadi pemimpin kita? Mana moral & agama kita? Sehinggakan hendak tinggalkan anak bini utk keluar bekerja pun kita was was.
Segala bab nak jaga apanama maruah seharusnya sudah lama diketepikan DEMI KEPENTINGAN negara tercinta.
"YAHUDI=SINGAPURA=KALIMULLAH=KJ=AI"
Saya tak letak AAB sekali sbb saya percaya beliau masih tidak sedar apa yg sedang berlaku. Jangan tunggu sehingga terlewat. Kalau AAB
sayangkan negara, letak jawatan sekarang!

Haramkan Segera Eksport Batu
Dan Debu Kuari Ke Singapura

Ruhanie Ahmad

Ltd., No. 19, Simon Road, Singapore 545904.

http://dir.bca.gov.sg/bca/CompanyDetail.asp?CoType=All&ID=199000234N

Bahagian bahan binaan Hong Leong Asia Ltd. beroperasi di No. 43 Sungei Kadut Street 4, Singapore 729061. Untuk maklumat selanjutnya sila klik link berikut:

http://www.hlasia.com.sg/
www.hlcorp.com.sg/hlatest/hlanew/contact.htm

Indonesia

Assalammualaikum Tun,

Thank you for your simple explaination on this issue Tun. Just wondering if you can reveal any evidence or black and white document to verify the information stated in your article (im not sure if this is against the law). It will be much more convincing.

Other than that, i'll be waiting for your explaination on other big issues.

Anyhow, may Allah bless you always Tun.. InsyaAllah..

Dear Tun,

I have always admire you for lots of things. In this case, you 'see' the future. Like it or not we have to work with Singapore. I believe the construction of the bridge will have positive effects to both countries in the long run. Our ports in Johor will also gain from this. In short, more opportunities for Malaysia.

Salam Tun Dr Mahathir,

Nowadays there is no longer two sides to every story, but three! Your version seems the most acceptable by our suffering citizens. You are a great man, but you too are a politician, also made mistakes, but you made us proud as Malaysians!

You keep posting revelations of the past and present, but what is the solution now? Are you going to come back into power and save us all???

Your successor Datuk Seri Abdullah, has been far from a success, and is extremely suspicious in his management of the country. He makes decisions, maybe he feels it's the right ones, but... why not explain??? We, the RAKYAT do not know anything, leading to speculations. This is a clear sign of a poor leadership, but he is the Leader of our Malaysia, is he the best we have???

As we know (or do not know, who knows?)... all Federal decisions are made and approved by the Dewan Rakyat and Negara. Did they all agree to these decisions?

How about his Second man, our DPM Datuk Seri Najib. Does he agree to all of Mr Badawi's decisions???
Why is he so quiet? Is he worried about something? I can understand if he waited for 1 or 2 years, but 5 years is way too long to stay quiet, while buying all the submarines and jets as a hobby. Is being a DPM so powerless that he can't object to anything? Does he even care about about Malaysia, or does he only care about being the next PM? Why doesn't he explain?

I know this is all speculation, but whose fault is this? I am a strong supporter of our government, but how long will this go on? We want answers, good ones, like in your posts Tun Dr Mahathir.

We need immediate action. Your former DPM Datuk Seri Anwar, is just waiting to gain the support to realize his life-long dream of being "awarded" Malaysia's PM. How about an entry about what happened to Anwar, Tun?

Everything seems to be moving so slowly here in Malaysia. I don't care about oil prices, we should have developed on our public transportations long ago. We need action, now... How about taking an active role, Tun? Your essays will not do us much good, other than awareness... and we are already very aware.

Will we achieve the Developed Nation status by 2020?

Salam sejahtera buat TUN sekeluarga,

I told my friends and my family bahawa he was doing a "Dollah Hadhari" while you were explaining about the bridge to the MT's and cabinet then.

And Loh,
I assume you are just one of the blokes who thinks, of what a waste the hi Way Plus was then... and now you are also one of the blokes who thinks the PLUS hi way is not wide enuff for your pleasure!!

Tun,

Saya sgt berharap org JOHOR will MISBEHAVE AGAIN!!

Thank you for writting this article. You reveal the truth. We are waiting eagerly for the next three disclosure.

Just wondering why The Star has stopped featuring news on your topic pertaining TSA. Even NTV7 news at 7.00 pm this evening didn't mentioned anything concerning your latest article. Unlike the norm. The sudden silent is certainly, abnormal. I assumed they must have received some kind of instruction or warning from the Information Ministry, ie. not to feature or report anything that involve Tun. This is strange, since The Star have been reporting Tun's articles for the last many weeks. Suddenly, there's no more Freedom of Press for Tun. Perhaps Tun revelation is hurting them. The goverment of AAB.

I think this must be the worked of our Parrot Minister from Pahang, inspired by AAb strongest crony, Mohamed son of Mohamed, supported by the Flip Flop Minister from Johor and directed by Steven Spilberg, sorry, I mean KJ.

By the way, I think the "antimamak" guy must be Zainuddin Mydin la...since he has no more power to appear in RTM. He now start to write nonsense. sorry Zam, you talk too much and critised Tun like nobody business whilst you were in power. You're so ungrateful of Tun. And that is why you lost the election. Apa yang kita faham, penuliasan dalam blog Tun semakin korek korek korek terhadap DSAAB, bukan apa. cuma nak lepas geram dan menyebarakan rakyat menolak DSAAB turun, itulah objectivenya, kalaulah bukan kerana wang, buat apa dia nak kritik habis habisan?

Duit punya pasal

Tun marah sebab banyak projek mega tun dibubarkan, jadi income pun jadi kurang, macam mana nak jaga kuncu kuncu? jadi kuncu kuncu Tun semakin pupus mati lenyap akibat wang.

--Tun bukan sahaja PM, Tetapi pandai berlakon. awas !!!

Dear Che Det,

You idea of a bridge is crooked, so that Lorries can cross the strait with a slow climb up the bridge. It is also crooked because Singapore disagrees to jointly build a straight one as it takes much more space and land to elevate the other end of the bridge from Singapore.

On the other hand, a straight bridge is always more efficient and cheaper to build compared to a crooked bridge, as well as a shorter travel time across the strait.

Either way, the outflow of Singapore's currency by Malaysia's labor and Singaporean consumer also increases substantially as the travel time between both states will now be reduced. The disparity and the barriers to equilibrium of social-economics between both states will then drop and hastened with the higher end from Singapore ‘overflowing’ to Johor, Malaysia (I will leave the details and accuracy of the marginal change to the critics and readers).

Thus, unless Malaysia's government compensate in-kind back to Singapore’s alleged losses, Singapore's government will never support it. Please do not forget that during that period before the implementation to host two casinos in the republic, Singapore is in a state of indirection as to where their economy will head for the next decade. This was informed by a few Singaporeans, in which I was informed about upon inquiring the ideas behind the bold move of the Sentosa Island project.

Frankly, I am not an analyst and am not in a position to say whether the compensation (or investment for a speedier travel between both states, if you prefer) by selling RM1 Billion worth of sand and giving rights of the peaceful Johorean air-space for Singapore Jet flexing is worth it.

Nevertheless, my view is this, Information and technology exchange is priceless and the government of Malaysia could have offered a better package of compensation incentives compared to closing down the project completely. My verdict, the government of Malaysia under the current regime is incompetent and short-sighted whilst yours is too bold and undiplomatic in approach (while unconventional and arguable at the same time).

So I sound undecided, unless you forget that the risk of corruption will always exist in any given government given any compensation package any government can come out with, not to mention, without compensation, to say the least. The developer of the canceled crooked bridge did receive their RM500 million for laying down the foundation on the Malaysian end though.

Perhaps, the project can still be continued when the level of corruption is much much much lower in the future now that we have a more competitive government. Heck, I feel that this comment sounds more two-sided than your article.

Thank you.

P/S:
Kami nak Pak Lah letak jawatan.

Tun, amat wajar Tun mengambil alih tampuk pemerintahan buat sementara waktu.

So wuz the fuss about water pipelines legal problems that Malaysia might face if we build the "bengkok" bridge?I remembered PakLah mentioned that we may get into legal fights with S'pore about the water pipelines.Maybe go ICJ?
Obviously thesand so-called sand export ban is not true at all. There have been sightings of 30 sand barges leaving Belungkor (there's a sandpit area there belonging to some very powerful people?)at certain times at night heading for possibly S'pore? Why recently I was surprised to see several lorries carrying sand(under covers of course but still see the sand leh!)on the Causeway!
Your truths on the bridge cancellation is going to get a buat-bodoh response from PakLah coz he is thinking that the people are down with minyak problems and got no time to comprehend your truths-telling stories.

YABhg Tun

I think it is a bit unjust to argue such an issue of such magnitude in a very simplistic way. I sincerely think that it is not as simple as it appears. I am sure there is a lot of technicalities involved (unless we want to assume our AG as incompetent and ignorant). I do believe some of the issues cited may be valid and post a little inconvenience in the implementation of the project.

Having said that, the socio-economic reasoning behind the replacement of the causeway is still very compelling both to Malaysia and Singapore, more so for Malaysia.

My greatest regret of the present administration actually is the lack of resolve to confront Singapore on the matter. I trust the solution proposed by the administration of YABhg Tun is to take back the rights to decide into what belongs to Malaysia in Malaysian hand. Overtime, Singapore will realise and would play ball with us. I salute for the political brinksmanship that YABhg Tun demonstrated in this instance.

To just forgo what has been spent and over and above that pay compensation to contractors is the ultimate act of cowardice that left Singapore thinks that they can dictate what is ours to decide with just a threat of the complexity of legal technicalities.

I believe at the end of the day, the compelling economic benefit that it will bring to both countries will shout far louder than the nagging cries of protracted legal tussle.

If it is left to me to argue,I would just not use the wasteful act of the present administration as the crux of the problem in relation to this issue, but rather the resolve to lead bravely for what is true and just.

YAB Tun,

There is nothing much we can do with regards to the cancellation of the bridge because according to the government, they had no choice as Singapore say 'Cannot Wan!!'

Having lived in Singapore and schooling in Johor back in the late eighties, the traffic caused by the causeway then was already horrendous. At times, when it was so bad, we had to walk across the causeway in the morning or risk being late for school.

The Crooked Bridge is exemplary of the Singapore's Govt. 'self-centred' mentality. Instead of logically consenting to jointly building a new, cheaper, straight bridge, they make their neighbours go through a tedious task of building a crooked, scenic, 'bengkok' and not to mention expensive, bridge.

Have they not heard of 'Love Thy Neighbour'? Then there was the water issue, where they insisted that we continue to sell them water at 'Zaman Dulu-Dulu' pricing.

Malaysians must take note of these issues and understand the intricate relationship that we have with Singapore. I will always be in constant admiration of how well organized and clean Singapore is. BUT, I feel that their sincerity in forging better ties with MY country is doubtful when we consider the issues raised above.

Many out there seems to think that the sole reason of our constant differences or issues raised by us is due to envy or if its by UMNO, its in protest over the treatment of Malays in Singapore. We must put such notions away and let LOGIC & FACTS shape our opinion.

The cancellations of the bridge had resulted in millions (or is it billions?) wasted, should we not then critically question our 'leaders' for the rationale for such decisions?

"This was a very attractive offer as the reclaimed land can sell for 3,000-5,000 Singapore dollars (about RM6,000-RM10,000) per square metre"

WHICH IS THE CORRECTONE?Any way will still give more than 90 marks to this article after clarrification has been made.I like the ILLUSTRATION picture very much because it assisted me to understand your explaination and also the design of the bridge is very unique.

Finally, an insightful explanation from the man himself! Thank you for the revelation of this issue which has long been misconstrued by the rakyat and manipulated by the media.

From an urban planner/architect's point of view, the proposal of the "bengkok" bridge is a unique solution specific to its context and sensitivity.

I wonder if the Tanjung Pelepas Port fits anywhere in this equation?

From my readings, I understand that even operating at less than half its full capacity, Tanjung Pelepas Port already poses as a potent adversary to the Port of Singapore. Care to comment on this, Tun?

Since we are on the subject of Singapore-Malaysia relations, I would also like your comments on the existing and future ownership of land area occupied by KTM railway lines from Woodlands to Tanjung Pagar and areas surrounding Masjid Temenggung at the foot of Mount Faber in Singapore.

Last I checked, these are Malaysian-owned lands. Would these lands be overlooked and handed over (just like the disputed Batu Putih) since the cancellation of the bridge would render train travel obsolete in the future?

Tun, I have always supported and agreed with your rationale over Malaysia's megaprojects which others label as "white elephants". (I bet Dato Seri Abdullah is enjoying the view from his office now!) To this very day, I have always found your ideas to be very clinical and visionary, including this one.

I bid you the best of health and thank you for all your guidance and jasa to the rakyat.

TUN previosly I thought Pak Lah didn't approved the bridge because it was often reported by mainstream media as 'CROOKED' [may be Pak Lah government hoped that by projecting the bridge as a bad design, they can make people agree that scrapping the bridge is the best choice as it do not look nice]. But now only did I understand that the bridge need to be in such a way as to allow lorry to assend and boat to pass beneath.
It is indeed dissapponting that the Pak Lah and his "YES MEN" cabinet ministers did not proceed with the bridge construction while in your time they had agreed with you that a bridge need to be built to ease congestion on the causeway.
What a selfish government we are currently having that does no regard people's need as top priority but are more concerned of filling their coffers with peoples money. Consider Zakaria's Palace in Selangor. There is a saying that if you found a cockroach [corrupted politicians] in your cupboard [ country], you can expect that they are more.
Tun, is my hope that you continue to enlighten us about this corrupted government misdeed , so that we may make change in the next election. Thank you.

Sebenarnya DOLAH ni memang penakut kepada S'pore & bangsa2 asing. DOLAH ikut cakap MENANTU (anak angkat s'pore) yang memang pro dgn s'pore. MENANTU DOLAH banyak main peranan untuk batalkan jambatan bengkok ni.

DOLAH suka main golf dgn pemimpin s'pore, kononnya diaLAH pemimpin yang sporting. Walhal cina s'pore dah main-mainkan dia.

semasa zaman TUN, saya respect cara TUN handle masalah dgn s'pore.

Jadi pemimpin zoo pun bagus gak sebab suka tiduuur.

Apapun TUN, kami tetap bersamamu.

Salam Sejahtera Buat Tun,

Saya lihat semmg nyer Singapore tengah sibuk dgn land reclaimation.

Kata hati mengatakan Pulau Batu Putih pun part of a plan to please the kutu. The matter was taken to court so that ppl/rakyat would not question the decision which was muchly expected. Ada jugak kutu, kata surat/agreement allowing s'pore to use that land was taken by a "spy". Kata hati saya berpendapat, it was an inside job. Kalau pasir boleh buat billion, inikan pula sebuah pulau.

Then, comes issue pulau pisang. This is just a follow up event yg terbukti milik kita.

Teruskan perjuangan Tun. Kami sentiasa bersama.

Terima Kasih Tun

The truth is always shocking to hear. Still, I am very dissapointed with the government for cancelling this project that will benefit Malaysia. All the excuses given by them upon the cancellation were not logic. Now Tun had reveal to us the real reasons for the cancellation. What a shame...

I hope in the near future, a new leader with Tun brilliance will revive this project for the benefit of all Malaysian.

God bless you Tun.

Moreover, the Abdullah administration are too stupid to undermine the real potentials that we are going to gain if the bridge is built and the ships are allowed to cross over!! For me, this is the real problem!! This show that the abdullah is a conservative minded and has no vision at all!! Just to think that how much we can gain if the ship can just cross over wihout making a turn at the south of singapore. We are losing not a mere bridge but billions of dollars!!

Mereka tidak langsung membela nasib rakyat, terutamanya melayu. Melayu yang maju banyak yang lahir dizaman pemerintahan TUN. PAKLAH lebih rela membela rakan-rakan asing seperti s'pore & USA.
Senarai perkara-perkara yang diLINGKUPkan oleh DOLAH:-
1) rel berkembar
2) jambatan bengkok
3) putrajaya (ada fasa yg terbengkalai)
4) PROTON
5) MAS (dia bela AIRASIA)
6) MSC (dia suruh rakyat bertani)
7) KLIA (dia buat LCCT)

Dear Tun,

This comment also goes out to antimamak and Loh

I have been following your blog from day one, and would like to congratulate you one the speed that you got your 1M hits.

As a Malaysian citizen that pretty much matured under your leadership, I did not totally agree with every decision that you made. Some of the decisions that you made, were in my opinion, very one-sided and are wastes of public funds. However, there are also many decisions that you made that, at first glanced seemed to be a waste of public's funds, but turned out to be brilliant.

I never thought that you were infallable when you were the PM. However, when I lay down all the pros and cons of your rule, the pros easily outweigh the cons.

I believed that most of the people that said that there was no free press and freedom of speech during your time were not totally wrong. I would'nt go so far as to say there were NO freedom, but just a serious LACK of freedom. However, those same people that say that probably have no problems putting food on the table for their family. For the rest of us who have to struggle just to make ends meet, we could really care less about freedom of press. What I do know is that, under your rule, although it was difficult, we still manage to feed our family.

Sadly, this isn't the case now. I find it almost impossible to make ends meet.

For Loh and antimamak, there are NO leaders in the world nowadays that are completely corrupt free. To me, in order for someone to be a leader nowadays, there must be corrupt practices done for him/her to get to that position in the first place. At the end of the day, we can only judge them on how much more good or bad that they do.

TDM has done bad. He is human after all. But at the end of the day, he has done more good.

If you look around us, you can see that our economy is better than all our neighbours except Singapore and Brunei. But these are both small countries and are not difficult to manage, in comparison. Even so, Singapore has to rule with an iron fist to get things done.

The sad thing about this current government is that they have not done a single good thing since they are in power.I simply just can't think of one. Every decision made seems to be to enrich themselves while the rest of the country suffers.

Corruption is inescapable. We are all humans. However, it is acceptable if more good comes out of it than bad. Yes, there will always be a party that is one the wrong end of any major decision.

Loh and antimamak seems to have a grudge against you, dear Tun. And I don't know for what reasons. I have been reading their comments and it seems that they only know how to criticise you, but never the present government. So, I deduce that they probably represent the present government, or more specifically the most hated man in Malaysia, KJ.

Tun and to all your die-hard supporters, you are not perfect. Far from it. You have also done a lot of wrong in your time. However, the scale still tips in your favour, in my book. However, maybe this is the time that you repent and help all of us get rid of the present menace in the government. Ultimately, I believe that will be biggest legacy.

That good care of yourself and my salam to your wife

Dari dulu saya dah rasa Pak Lah tak layak jadi PM. Tak ada kredibiliti langsung, jadi pengikut bolehlah. Jadi pendamai pun ok gak.

Salam Tun,

Semasa saya kecil dahulu sekitar tahun 80an, saya masih ingat akan bingitnya bunyi jet pejuang singapura terbang atas sekolah saya. kadang-kadang sehari tu 2 3 kali pusing.

Saya tak tahu siapa yg benarkan jet s'pore tu lalu kat negara kita. tapi yg saya tahu masa tu zaman Tun. Sehinggalah saya tak perasan bilakah jet2 singapore dah tak lalu kampung saya lagi. Terima kasih Tun.

Tapi semenjak AAB menjadi PM, saya lihat semakin kerap pula jet singpore melintasi johor. Kali terakhir pada bulan Mei lepas. 3 kali pusing. Kenapalah Malaysia ni terlalu berlembut? Kenapalah kerajaan terlalu menjaga hati jiran dari menjaga hati rakyatnya sendiri?

Apalah nak jadi...

Menteri2 pun nampaknya macam tak pandai dah nak membela rakyat. Sharir Samad dulu yg lantang berkata-kata pun bila naik jadi menteri, terus jadi tukang kipas AAB.

sigh...

The government's money has been misused since many moons ago.
The planned project of the crooked bridge is one that involves a lot of money. What about money involved on a much smaller scale ? Example allowances for training purposes, scholarships, etc. etc. Little, little things make up the big things. If there is a need to clear up the country's financial status, you will have to think of a team of real sharp auditors who are neutral and who are being protected once they expose the usage of money in the country.

While there is a need to keep savings for the country in case of some unforeseen circumstances, the excess of the savings should be given back to the people.

Till today it is a sorry sight when one uses the causeway. Regretfully, the sorry sight is on the Malaysian's side. It is not just the existing infrastructure there. The services, the crowd, the rush are also the problems. The second link is much better and well planned. However, many people are used to the old causeway because it provides a more direct linkage into both Johor Bahru centre and Singapore city. The Tanjong Pagar station itself looks ancient, dim and kind of neglected.

If the rule of punishment and reward is used, it should be used on the relevant people and not people who do not deserve it at all.

Tun,

4. Tentang nak terbang lalu ruang udara Johor, memang tak boleh lah. Ia melibatkan kedaulatan negara.

5. Kesimpulannya, kita kurang bijak berunding. Kalau bijak, dah dapat jambatan lurus and lahirkan 2 atau 3 jutawan.

Salam Yg Disanjungi Tun,
Dengan rendah diri saya memohon izin utk paste kan artikel yg menarik ini, agar Johorean & Malaysian are aware of this Neocons coming here:

War Profiteering: How do Economic Sanctions affect Halliburton Energy Services Inc ?

March 29, 2007

Halliburton Energy Services, Inc., Sanctions-Buster!
Economic sanctions have been applied on Iran pursuant to a US sponsored United Nations Security Council resolution. Recent reports in the New York Times and the Washington Post focus on U.S. pressures on foreign companies and governments which are known to either support or have business ties with Iran. Curiously, these reports do not mention Halliburton Energy Services Inc, a company with direct links to the Vice President's Office, which has, despite the US sponsored sanctions, important investments in Iran's energy sector.1
Late last month, Halliburton’s public relations department announced that the oilfield services firm will sell its KBR unit that is mired in the Nigerian bribery scandal. Then on March 11 came truly bizarre news: Halliburton’s corporate headquarters will move from Houston to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Even with last year's furor over Dubai Ports World, the public response so far has been crashing silence. But I suppose that only makes sense as U.S.-UAE relations aren't newsworthy either (Lockheed Martin's sale of 80 F-16 fighters, on-going free trade talks, and the Navy’s contract with Dubai-owned Inchcape Shipping Services).2
Reducing corporate tax liability seems to be a motive for Halliburton management who want to relocate company headquarters to Dubai. Nor do the United States and the UAE have an extradition treaty, which Halliburton executives may find useful someday.3 But this is nothing next to the fact that Halliburton already has an institutional presence in Dubai and is violating U.S. embargoes against "rogue states" if not directly, then at least in spirit.
Incorporated in the Cayman Islands, Halliburton Products and Services Limited (HPSL) works out of an office in Dubai. Halliburton claims that HPSL is an "independent" foreign subsidiary that is not directly managed by U.S. citizens. Halliburton argues that it therefore does not have to pay taxes on HPSL's revenues. The argument continues that, not being managed by U.S. citizens, Halliburton’s foreign subsidiaries are not subject to U.S. legal restrictions. But the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control maintains that "U.S. persons may not approve, finance, facilitate or guarantee any transaction by a foreign person where that transaction by a foreign person would be prohibited if performed by a U.S. person or from the United States."4 No matter. Besides, perhaps I miss the point but how can HPSL be both a "subsidiary" and "independent" at the same time?
Ever since the start of the Bush administration, anyone who cared to know could learn that Halliburton was under Federal investigation for violating sanctions against Iran. It is also common knowledge – that is, among those who care to know – that some of the deeds in question may have begun when Vice-President Dick Cheney was Halliburton’s CEO in the 1990s nor has there been a criminal prosecution in relation to any of them.5
Illegal or not, HPSL’s work in Iran has been interesting. In January 2005, after an Iranian newspaper reported it, Halliburton admitted that HPSL won a sub-contract from Oriental Kish Oil, a private Iranian company, to develop a section of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf. But supposedly fearing for national security, the new Ahmadinejad regime blocked HPSL’s participation in the project in September (a high-level Oriental Kish executive was also a key negotiator with the IAEA and western powers about Iran's civilian nuclear program).6
It was sometime during this period, sources claim, that Halliburton sold components for nuclear reactors to Iran via HPSL. If this is true and if the Iranian nuclear program does have a military component, the implications are unspeakable. Did representatives of Halliburton, or any of its corporate entities, consider risks to U.S. national security during phases of the South Pars negotiations? Does HPSL still keep an office in Tehran? These are not trivial questions for besides HPSL, at least five Halliburton foreign subsidiaries have sold products and services to customers in Iran (incidentally, this information is confirmed by a 2003 company report posted on the Halliburton website).7
What does America’s most famous former Halliburton employee think about his old company’s purported links with Iran? When he was CEO in 1998, Cheney put it this way: "I think we'd be better off if we…backed off those sanctions [and] didn't try to impose secondary boycotts on companies...trying to do business over there." Straight-shooting talk but are they the words of a rugged patriot?8 In some people’s minds, they may conjure up memories of unpunished treason by certain "U.S. persons" during World War II.
The comeback that Halliburton is not the only sanctions-buster is childish. On the other hand, "vigorous" enforcement of current embargo legislation caters to warmongers in our country. At issue is Halliburton's own behavior. But rather than expecting "apologies," we must make sanctions-busting and war-profiteering unprofitable. How? A boycott movement directed at business that deal with Halliburton is in order. Efforts by municipal and state authorities over the past few years to "clean up" employee pension funds are also positive steps. For their part, national law-makers must develop full-blown and consistent legislation that does not punish foreign populations but rather American sanctions-busters. Congress and President Bush should hold Halliburton liable for the actions of its foreign subsidiaries. Assuming that our elected leaders have the "political will" to do so.

Dear Tun,
While posting all these mind-opening articles (I sincerely thank you!), I just hope you be very careful since your opponents might be waiting for you to take a wrong step. In particular, I'm worried in case some people in the government would find reason to arrest you under ISA. I know that you've previously been arrested under this act (and yet you did not abolish it during your tenure!), but just be careful, Ayahanda Tun. Once again, thank you for everything.

We missed you Tun. You should not have resigned and give the leadership to such an inferior 'Islamic' leader.

Assalamualaikum

Dah nak buat macam mane, Nasi sudah jadi bubur,

Pemikiran Paklah masih 4 tahun sebelum PRU12, tak ade perubahan, semua rakyat malaysia tau dia tidur,

Apapun saya kagum kerajaan Malaysia no 6 tebaik bukan zaman paklah tapi zaman TUN. Kami tidak mudah tertipu oleh Pak Lah.

p/s Insyaallah kami rakyat Malaysia doakan Tun semoga diberkati ALLAH s.w.t dan ALLAH Maha Pengampun

Umur Tun sekarang dah lanjut, boleh dikatakan semakin hampir ke penghujungnya jika mengikut purata jangka hidup rakyat Malaysia.

Tun, sebelum terlalu lambat, TOLONGLAH selamatkan Malaysia.

You have nothing to lose, Tun. Please help us.

Maaf jika terkasar bahasa. Semoga Allah merahmati Tun dan keluarga.

Salam Tun

Wanna to know flip flop characteristics of this sleeping beauty. Here is a short list

1. Split the ministry of home affairs (KDN) into two ministries i.e ministry of home affairs and ministry of security in 2004. Created unnecessary 'chaos' in the day to day public administration. Azmi Khalid was appointed as the minister of home affairs. Allocated sum RM8 million to renovate a new office for him. AAB remained as minister of security. In April 2008, combined two ministries into one - back to square one. Hamid Albar appointed as minister. We can deduce that he made changes just for the sake of changing. Nothing behind it, perhaps wanted to create more ministers to be his baruas.

2.Formed Institut Integriti Nasional to make integrity as part and parcel of malaysian culture....not realising that by having such an institution is making a mockery of ACA's existence. To make matter worse this sleeping beauty never practice what he preaches. He appointed, Mike Tyson as UMNO information chief after knowing very well that this joker was once forced to vacate an MB post after being arrested in Down Under for carrying more than RM2 million hard cash. And recently he appointed a lawyer who was once suspended for being involved in rasuah politik as de facto minister of law who later advised him to pay ex-gratia payment to salleh abbas and the gang. Until now the amount is not disclose as seemed the money came from his own coffer. Where is transparency you are talking about Mr. Sleeping Beauty???.

3. Appointed Shahrizat as PM's advisor on 'women matters' with a capacity of a minister after she lost miserably in PRU 12. The government has to pay her unnecessarily a salary equivalent to a minister when there is a minister for that portfolio.

4. Showcasing of islam hadhari - millions of ringgit wasted without any tangible products. The crime rate keep increasing, the number of mat rempits on the rise...

5. Increasing fuel price by more than 40% less than 48 hours after declaring that there would be no hike before August 2008.

6. Telling the rakyat to tighten their belts, when he is on the opposite. This Sleeping Beauty took almost one year to move into Seri Perdana. The reason? Seri Perdana needed to be refurbished at a cost more than RM20 million. This amount can built one beautiful school in any state. (Is Sleeping Beauty was trying to tell the rakyat that Tun M and Dr. Siti Hasmah have no taste while 'occupying' Seri Perdana and most of the furnitures needed to be replaced. For record, the new prime minister of Britain never do such a thing when he/she moves into No.10, Downing Street.

I wish to refer to the counter-comment made by 'Loh' on the issue of sand-selling. I have been in the business of brokering sand selling for many years. So, pls share with us all, which part of Malaysia/Thailand/Indonesia or any other countries within South East Asia that allows their sand to be sold en masse, cross country, and at what price? or else, dont make your own assumption, because all you said about sand being abundant is a total lie. My comment about Singapore being able to cut their hills for land reclamation, I wonder if you have ever been to Singapore before, have you?

Salam bahagia Tun,
Saya cuba menghayati ucapan Pak Lah. Tiada apa yg istimewa. Menjemukan dan menyebabkan mata pun cepat mengantuk. Saya rela tak mendengarnya. Dah la ulangan benda yg sama setiap kali ucapan. Dah bertahun-tahun rasanya saya tidak mendengar ucapan Presiden semasa persidangan UMNO.Tiada apa yg menarik. Saya merasakan setiap pemimpin kena memperkasakan public speech ni.

I think all the UMNO MPs are against the wishes of the masses or the majority members. It is impossible they cannot understand the clear and comprehensive explanation in all the entries in TDM's blog. The security of their position in the party and in the government is their priority and they do not want to jeopardise that. Say what you like, they wont listen. They understand the messages from PRU12 but they just want to make maximum use of their term while they still can.If they are forced out, they want the party to be out with them. They should be forced out before the party become irrelevant as they do notlook after the interest of the grassroots.

Tun, I have never had any doubt about the strategic value of the bridge but the government kept on telling us lies why this bridge could not be built purportedly on the ground that the curved bridge could not be joined with the existing part of the bridge without the consent of the Singaporean Government. I was wondering why did we need the consent of the Singaporean Government when the bridge could be joined at the part of the existing bridge which is within the Malaysian boundary. Furthermore, if I remember correctly, the Singaporean Government had at one time agreed to the building of the bridge. Now it seems that the scrapping of the bridge had nothing to do with the technical problem as so unashamedly pronounced by the government but something nefarious on the part of the government. This is really disheartening.

Tun, when you were still the prime minister, I could see that we were gaining an edge over Singapore but all the good work has since gone down the drain. Now it seems that what this present government is doing in the Johore State is more towards supporting Singapore's economic growth rather than endeavouring to gain further edge over Singapore.

Salam Yg Disanjungi Tun,

Stumble another article of which might interest some of our beloved malaysians. Seperti macam ada relation from this historical events & our current HP6 govt & that little RED DOT down under. Dengan izin :

THE EVIL EMPIRE REVISITED

The Evil Empire has devastated hundreds of millions of lives and we are all complicit, thanks to our government(s), in the ruination of lives and exploitation of human energies.* - So, the question is: who are the real criminals and profiteers, for centuries already living in their own 'Vatican' of the finance world, their own 'State within a State'? Whodunit?

FPF - July 10th 2006 - Via a friend in London I got the story below, an article with information and facts about the top of the Evil Empire. Facts, which I know 99% of the journalists/editors and 'foreign' or other correspondents, especially in England, wouldn't even dare to report on. They are all ignorant, afraid, or - literally - 'beating around the Bush'. In their war advocating media reigns the silence of the lambs: nobody speaks about the elephant in the room* - or about where the top war profiteers of the Evil Empire's have their stables, their lair.

And that's why most of the people who read this, and who even have visited England and London , apart from those living there, have never seen any of the information below. It isn't in any of our history books anywhere, and for decades we've been fed and brainwashed with the Empire's Hollywood version of reality. Who then - and that is the right question to ask - are those responsible for all the omissions, the lies and propaganda filled history? Who holds the money and thus the power?*

And what about all those so called journalists/correspondents which were in more honest times supposed to report about all this to us; the people, whose interests they were expected to keep an eye on and defend? How can and dare they offer and try to 'sell' all the blatant lies nowadays? Parroting among others the government, secret service communiqués or one of the world's worst war propaganda sewers, the BBC, which now stands for: Broadcasting Blair's Crap?

Because the horrible consequences have been perfectly described by Manuel Valenzuela in his essay 'Of The Evil Empire' - the Imperialist Devastation of Peoples and the Evils Done in our Names -

But most propagandists are enslaved and/or 'sold' - and are like too many other people accepting the blame and shame of global massacres, confirming every day that apparently none of those miserable media minions has any decency left. They keep supporting the global genocide by the 'Evil Empire' in London, in their State within a State, as described below. Author Des Griffin was also 'following the money' - as one should to find the crooks.

THE VATICAN OF THE COMMERCIAL WORLD

In the rather unknown and very underreported book Descent into Slavery* by author Des Griffin, in chapter 6, 'The City Of London' is described, and the history of the 'Vatican of the Commercial World' explained. The stables of the 'Evil Empire' herd and it's slaves.

THE CITY

When people think of England, such terms as 'Great Britain,' 'The Queen,' 'The Crown,' 'Crown Colonies,' 'London,' 'The City of London,' and 'British Empire' come to mind and blend together into an indistinguishable blur. They are generally looked upon as synonymous, as being representative of the same basic system. During the 1950s and 1960s the author lived in England (London for five years) without even beginning to realize the vast difference that exists in the meaning of some of the above terms.

When people hear of 'The Crown' they automatically think of the King or Queen; when they hear of 'London' or the 'The City' they instantly think of the capital of England in which the monarch has his or her official residence.

TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE UNIQUE AND GENERALLY UNKNOWN SUBJECT WE MUST DEFINE OUR TERMS:

When we speak of 'The City' we are in fact referring to a privately owned Corporation - or Sovereign State - occupying an irregular rectangle of 677 acres and located right in the heart of the 610 square mile 'Greater London' area. The population of 'The City' is listed at just over four thousand, whereas the population of 'Greater London' (32 boroughs) is approximately seven and a half million.

The 'Crown' is a committee of twelve to fourteen men who rule the independent sovereign state known as London or 'The City.' 'The City' is not part of England. It is not subject to the Sovereign. It is not under the rule of the British parliament. Like the Vatican in Rome, it is a separate, independent state.

IT IS THE VATICAN OF THE COMMERCIAL WORLD.

The City, which is often called "the wealthiest square mile on earth," is ruled over by a Lord Mayor. Here are grouped together Britain's great financial and commercial institutions: Wealthy banks, dominated by the privately-owned (Rothschild controlled) Bank of England, Lloyd's of London, the London Stock Exchange, and the offices of most of the leading international trading concerns. [Such as the British Invisibles, I kid you not]. Here, also, is located Fleet Street, the heart and core of the newspaper and publishing worlds.

TWO MONARCHS

The Lord Mayor, who is elected for a one year stint, is the monarch in the City. As Aubrey Menen says in "London", Time-Life, 1976, p. 16: "The relation of this monarch of the City to the monarch of the realm [Queen] is curious and tells much." It certainly is and certainly does !

When the Queen of England goes to visit the City she is met by the Lord Mayor at Temple Bar, the symbolic gate of the City. She bows and asks for permission to enter his private, sovereign State. During such State visits "the Lord Mayor in his robes and chain, and his entourage in medieval costume, outshines the royal party, which can dress up no further than service uniforms." The Lord Mayor leads the queen into his city.

The reason should be clear. The Lord Mayor is the monarch. The Queen is his subject ! The monarch always leads the way. The subject always stays a pace or two behind !

The small clique who rule the City dictate to the British Parliament. It tells them what to do, and when. In theory Britain is ruled by a Prime Minister and a Cabinet of close advisers. These 'fronts' go to great lengths to create the impression that they are running the show but, in reality, they are mere puppets whose strings are pulled by the shadowy characters who dominate behind the scenes. As the former British Prime Minister of England during the late 1800s Benjamin D'Israeli wrote: "So you see... the world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes" (Coningsby, The Century Co., N.Y., 1907, p. 233).

DIPLOMATS ARE NOWADAYS NO MORE THAN OFFICE BOYS

This fact is further demonstrated by another passage from Menen's book: "The Prime Minister, a busy politician, is not expected to understand the mysteries of high finance, while the Chancellor of the Exchequer [Budget Director] is only expected to understand them when he introduces the budget. Both are advised by the permanent officials of the Treasury, and these listen to the City. If they suspect that some policy of the government will [back-fire]... it is no use their calling up British ambassadors to ask if it is so; they can find out more quickly from the City. As one ambassador complained to me, diplomats are nowadays no more than office boys, and slow ones at that.

"The City will know. They will tell the Treasury and the Treasury will tell the Prime Minister. Woe betide him if he does not listen. The most striking instance of this happened in recent history. In 1956 the then Prime Minister, Sir Anthony Eden... launched a war to regain the Suez Canal. It had scarcely begun when the City let it be known that in a few days he would have no more money to fight it; the Pound would collapse. He stopped the war and was turned out of office by his party. When the Prime Minister rises to address the Lord Mayor's banquet, he hopes that the City will put more behind him than the gold plate lavishly displayed on the sideboard" (p. 18).

THE BOND SLAVE OF THE "INVISIBLE AND INAUDIBLE" FORCE

History clearly reveals that the British government is the bond slave of the "invisible and inaudible" force centered in the City. The City calls the tune. The "visible and audible leaders" are mere puppets who dance to that tune on command. They have no power. They have no authority. In spite of all the outward show they are mere pawns in the game being played by the financial elite.

HISTORY of the 'CITY'

From the time of William the Conqueror until the middle of the seventeenth century the British Monarchs ruled supreme - their word was law. They truly were Sovereign in every sense of the word.

As British strength and influence grew around the world toward the end of the 1600s the wealth, strength and influence of the elite merchants in the City also grew - only at a faster pace. In 1694 the privately owned Bank of England (a central bank) was established to finance the profligate ways of William III. The bank was financed by a group of City merchants who used William Paterson as a 'front.' The names of the founders have never been made public.

It was at that juncture that the Bank of England and the City began to dominate and control the affairs of Britain. Their influence and wealth grew in leaps and bounds in the century that followed. "The Illustrated Universal History," 1878, records that "Great Britain emerged from her long contest with France with increased power and national glory. Her Empire was greatly expanded in all parts of the world; her supremacy on the sea was undisputed; her wealth and commerce were increased...

BUT WITH ALL THIS NATIONAL PROSPERITY, THE LOWER CLASSES OF THE ENGLISH PEOPLE WERE SUNK IN EXTREME WRETCHEDNESS AND POVERTY, HAVING BEEN BLED DRY DURING THE STRUGGLE OF THE PREVIOUS TWENTY YEARS. - [Why? - HR]

It was at this juncture (1815) that the House of Rothschild seized control of the British economy, the Bank of England and the City - and, through their other branches, control of the other European nations.

Prior to this period Britain had developed colonies and outposts in the far-flung reaches of the globe. Having been thrown out of the Western Hemisphere, Britain now concentrated on acquiring and developing additional possessions elsewhere.

During its heyday in the nineteenth century approximately 90% of all international trade was carried in British ships. Other shippers had to pay the Crown royalties or commissions for the 'privilege' of doing business on the high seas. During these years 'Britannia Ruled the Waves' through the domination of the most modern and powerful navy known up to that time.

TWO SEPARATE EMPIRES

To avoid misunderstanding, it is important that the reader recognize the fact that two separate empires were operating under the guise of the British Empire. One was the Crown Empire and the other was the British Empire.

All the colonial possessions that were white were under the Sovereign - i.e. under the authority of the British government. Such nations as the Union of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada were governed under British law. These only represented thirteen percent of the people who made up the inhabitants of the British Empire.

All the other parts of the British Empire - nations like India, Egypt, Bermuda, Malta, Cyprus and colonies in Central Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong and Gibraltar (those areas inhabited by the browns, yellows and blacks) were all Crown Colonies. These were not under British rule. The British parliament had no authority over them.

THEY WERE PRIVATELY OWNED AND RULED BY A PRIVATE CLUB IN LONDON, ENGLAND KNOWN AS THE CROWN.

The Crown's representative in such areas held the absolute power of life and death over all the people under his jurisdiction. There were no courts and no method of appeal or retribution against a decision rendered by the representatives of the Crown. Even a British citizen who committed a crime in a Crown colony was subject to the Crown law. He couldn't appeal to British law as it didn't apply.

As the Crown owned the committee known as the British government there was no problem getting the British taxpayer to pay for naval and military forces to maintain the Crown's supremacy in these areas. Any revolts were met with terrible retribution by the British navy at no cost to the Crown.

The City reaped fantastic profits from its operations conducted under the protection of the British armed forces. This wasn't British commerce and British wealth. The international bankers, prosperous merchants and the British aristocracy who were part of the 'City' machine accumulated vast fortunes which they lavishly squandered in their pursuit of prestige and standing in British Society. Had the wealth been spread out among all the people in the British Isles prosperity would have abounded. [I am not suggesting that this should have been done, the thefts from the exploited should never have occurred to begin with - ralph].

In spite of the wealth of the world flowing into the City the majority of the British people were barely making ends meet. Many were impoverished to the point of despair. The elite lived in regal splendor. The poor British peasants were never given a chance to get a cut of the action.

"TOTAL DISREGARD OR OPEN CONTEMPT DISPLAYED BY THE ARISTOCRACY"

Simon Haxey in "England's Money Lords Tory M.P.," drew his readers' attention to the "total disregard or open contempt displayed by the aristocracy" towards the British people. He also asked, "What part do the colonial people play in the battle for democracy when they themselves have no democratic rights and the British governing class refuses to grant such rights" (pp. 114,115) [we all know the difference between democracy and republics I hope - ralph]

David Lloyd George, a future prime minister, emphasized the power of the City and its total contempt for the "wretches" who were not part of the 'club.' In a 1910 speech he stated: "We do most of the business of the world. We carry more international trade - probably ten times more - than Germany. Germany carries her own trade largely. The international trade is ours. Well, we do not do it for nothing. As a matter of fact, our shipping brings us over a hundred millions (pounds) a year, mostly paid by that wretched foreigner. I'm taxing the foreigner for all I know... You've heard a good deal of talk here, probably, about the exportation of capital abroad. There is no way in which we can make the foreigner pay more... We get the foreigner in four ways by that. The first way we leave to Lord Rothschild..." ("Better Times", published 1910).

About seventy years ago Vincent Cartwright Vickers stated that "...financiers in reality took upon themselves, perhaps not the responsibility, but certainly the power of controlling the markets of the world and therefore the numerous relationships between one nation and another, involving international friendship and mistrusts... Loans to foreign countries are organized and arranged by the City of London with no thought whatsoever of the nation's welfare but solely in order to increase indebtedness upon which the City thrives and grows rich...

THROUGH OWNERSHIP OF A LARGE PORTION OF THE PRESS

This national and mainly international dictatorship of money which plays off one country against another and which, through ownership of a large portion of the press, converts the advertisement of its own private opinion into a semblance of general public opinion, cannot for much longer be permitted to render Democratic Government a mere nickname. Today, we see through a glass darkly; for there is so much which 'it would not be in the public interest to divulge'..." (E.C. Knuth, "Empire of 'The City'", p. 65).

All of the above points were stressed by Roland G. Usher on pages 80, 83 and 84 of "Pan Germanism," written in 1913: "The London and Par

A'Kum Y.Bhg.Tun,

Dear Tun, have you ever considered setting up another blog as a online Think Tank platform for Malaysian citizens?

I believe that there's no Think tank organization at all in Malaysia.

All these talk and blog you've posted here are all mainly words in the air. Can the average Malaysian citizen be more powerful by deriving more positive actions via setting up a Think Tank?

What we need is positive action, NOT Riots or more conflicts but derive strategy that'll able to avoid anymore such incidents in future slowly.

Do advise whether am I providing any helpful suggestion or not.

Askum YABhg Tun. Tahniah sekali lagi atas posting terbaru ini. Jelas sekali tindak-tanduk kerajaan Pak Dolah ini memang tiada wawasan, hanya stop-gap measures bertujuan mengeksploitasi keadaan bagi keuntungan keluarga dan kroni. Apa yg ada terdpt dlm kerajaan sekarang adalah 'political opportunists' bukan pemimpin rakyat sejati, bukan pejuang agama, bangsa dan negara, tidak serupa ayahnda sprt Tun Razak dahulu. Saya kira kalau negara berhadapan dgn sesuatu bencana, tindak tanduk mereka hanya berasas berapa keuntungan yg mereka boleh perolehi out of the sufferings of others.
Saya ada terbaca dlm satu bblog (jebatmustdie) yg menyiar semula satu article ditulis oleh Menteri Kewangan 2, TS Mohd Nor mengenai bagaimana beliau dipanggil oleh Tun dlm peristiwa krisis m/wang a/bangsa tahun 1988. TS Mohd Nor was full of praise for Tun's ability to understand and master the intricacies and technicalities of the world monetary system and on top of it, to introduce measures to save Msia from the colonial masters at IMF and the World Bank. TS Nor seems like an honest man. Yet I just wonder what is his role in shaping Pak Dollah's economic policies or has he become another 'political opportunist' after becoming an elected wakil rakyat.
To Tun, pls also write on the various 'development' corridors esp Wilayah Iskandar. Will it become another 'Pulau Putih Mata'?

Dear Che Det,

Tun is a "Vision 2020 Developer" created mega projects like KLCC, Proton, Penang Bridge, FI circuit, Langkawi projecs, Menara Telekom, Sepang International Airport, Putrayaya, LRT, Monorail and many mega projects using taxpayers funds for the benefits of the people and country.

Pak Lah is a "Corridor Dreamer" that he has yet to deliver a single proven sucessful mega project todate and all his dream corridor projects are on papers only with no action and talk a lot only but billions of taxpayers funds utilized but not supported and not substantiated by any completed mega projects.

Rakyat Malaysia are damn sour, anger and regret to know huge public funds were misused and mismanaged by civil servants and government agencies as reported by the General Audit and Akauntan Negara. No actions have been taken against any culprits by AG on such bad cases. Rakyat Malaysia deserved to know the all answers from Pak Lah government instead of listening to his bad taste announcements of prices increased for petrol, rice, electricity, flour, windfall tax and essential foods. No actions to resolve the decline in economy and financial deficit problems in Malaysia. After 12thGE, Rakyat Malaysia only listening to the crying of spoilt milk on the defeat of BN to rule the prosperous states where all BN leaders cannot continued to take advantages in milking more wealth from the five states controlled by Pakatan Rakyat.

WHAT A SHAME ?

TUN is damn RIGHT to quit his new party founded by him since TUN has lost faith in the present leadership. TUN has continued to voice out disastisfaction on how they are going to destroy the resources of the country, misused of public funds, misused of power for their own benefits and enrich their cronies and families and also victimised the people of Malaysia.

Rakyat Malaysia invite TUN to participate and join the entire nation to protest the prices hike for petrol and electricity in the forthcoming nation rally at KLCC in July 2008.

TUN - YOU ARE WANTED BY PEOPLE OF MALAYSIA TO RESCUE AND SAVE OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA.

Dearest Tun,

I strongly believe you did a GREAT JOB in our national automotive industry, the so called PROTON.

The consequences are:
1. Government’s effort to minimize the country’s deficit and to maximize development budget has been badly affected by the subsidy of fuel price.
2. People suffer because they can’t afford the increased fuel price.
3. Japanese Hybrid car such as Toyota Prius and Honda Civic and European compact diesel engine can have 2 to 3 times higher city mileage compared to Proton Iswara. This means if the crude oil goes up to USD500/ barrel, they can still sustain.
4. If Proton still exists, we as Malaysians would not be able to enjoy good cars (high mileage and high efficiency) at a low price.

Tun, have you ever thought of how to ensure that a fresh graduate would have a starting pay of RM1500/ month, a RM300 Fixed Deposit savings per month and can afford to hire a Toyota Camry when they want to balik kampong once in a while instead of asking RM500 from their parents every end of the month?

This can be achieved if they can go to work via public transports instead of driving a car. During the 22 year tenure of you being Prime Minister, a good and integrated public transportation system should have been the top priority instead of all other mega projects which you place importance in such as Proton, twin tower, Putrajaya and etc.

If you pay a visit to KTM station in Bangi and Kajang, you will realize how terrible the train stations are. How can these stations be designed, approved and constructed? We don’t expect to have one single train which can be diverted to two or three different final destinations or running at 300 to 500 km/ hr like Japan but vision 2020 will arrive in less than 12 years. Japanese in the 1980s would never build such train stations such as our current ones. I don’t agree with Pak Lah’s approach but the difficulties that the country faces today are triggered by you.

Anyway, if Tun wishes to hear the truth from the people, we are ready to give full support to your blog.

Assalamualaikum Tun,

Kami tahulah para MP Johor nak jaga periuk nasi masing-masing, agar perut semakin buncit, tapi pakai otak sikitlah, jagalah kehendak sebenar rakyat Johor yang dah undi kamu.

Sebagai anak Johor, kami malu punya wakil rakyat seperti anda semua.

Dulu semasa TSMY jadi MB Johor, siGhani dan konco-konconya bukan main lagi fitnah TSMY jual tanah Melayu kepada orang singapura, terutama di kempas. Apa dah jadi hari ini?

YAB Ghani! WPI , Danga Bay, siapa untung?

YABhg Tun,

Kenapa Singapura Menentang Pembinaan Jambatan Tun!

Pak Dollah pula kata, "kita ikut kehendak rakyat". Soalnya siapa yang dipimpin...adakah rakyat memimpin Perdana Menteri...

Masa zaman ayahanda 1981-2003, saya faham apa maksud pemimpin.

Terima kasih ayahanda atas segalanya.

Terima kasih ayahanda atas segalanya.

Saya bukanlah pro mahupun kuncu Tun, yg saya inginkan adl perubahan kpd kepemimpinan BN skrang.

Utk merubahnya, Tun kena mula dr bawah spt yg saya cadangkan. Mulakan langkah awal dgn mencari pimpinan generasi baru yg berpotensi di setiap Negeri dan cawangan seluruh Malaysia.

Saya sendiri akan mempastikan bhw perjuangan Tun dpt diteruskan di Sabah jika Tun mahu lakukannya. Jika Tun pernah membina semula UMNO Baru, maka apakah Tun masih lagi berminat utk membina UMNO Baru(02)?

Apakah Tun takut utk melakukannya sekali lagi atau Tun dan anak2 mahu menyambut seruan saya? Perjuangan dgn misi dan visi yg lebih telus perlu dilakarkan kembali agar Malaysia tidak terumbang-ambing akibat perebutan kuasa politik yg tdk menentu.

Saya yakin ramai pemuda-pemudi di seluruh Malaysia mampu menyahut seruan Tun jika Tun benar2 mahu melakukannya. Jgn lah setakat hangat2 tahi ayam, sekadar melepaskan batuk di tangga.

Jika Tun benar2 mahu melakukan revolusi tsb, saya akan menjadi individu pertama dr SABAH utk membantu usaha TUN.

As told by an ex-member of UMNO ….

Once upon a time,

Crooked Bridge met Crooked PM.

Crooked PM tried to work out a crooked deal with his friendly neighbour who was then hungry for sand and air space for her military aircraft.

Crooked PM tried to negotiate with the rakyat of Johore but to no avail though the bridge could be straight instead of curve.

As a result, the Crooked PM cancelled the bridge project because he got annoyed and frustrated after the crooked deal was not successful.

Now the vast majority of Malaysians came to realise of the reasons why the bridge was designed to be crooked after the once powerful UMNO ex-member told the truth of the crooked story in his popular blog.

All Malaysians salute him for this daring revelation. He is the Tun of all Tuns in Malaysia.

Today, the causeway remains as a straight “bridge” but the curve bridge would be remained as a piece of creative artwork of the Crooked PM’s predecessor. Not only large amount of rakyat’s money was spent for this crooked project, the end result of the Crooked PM’s decision had also gave birth to many white elephants for Johoreans to admire and for our good neighbour to laugh and laugh!!

Well, hopefully by year 2020, the original painting or drawing of the crooked bridge could be auctioned by the world’s first fine art auctioneer, The Christie’s, for a handsome sum of money. This may be a good idea after all.

Goodbye to the crooked bridge and good luck to the crooked PM. As for the “designer” and advocate of the crooked bridge project -- please stay strong and take good care of your health as we want you to continue blogging to shame and rid the crooked politicians.

Salam sejahtera Tun,

Dear Tun,
you are totaly right about this issue. Pak Lah has made a very wrong call by cancelling the construction of Jambatan Indah to Singapore. But what makes me so angry to Pak Lah at the time was because of his statement saying that the citizens of MALAYSIA doesn't like the construction of the bridge especially by the Johorians. Come on! Doesn't he have any better excuses for the people of MALAYSIA? And after the cancellation of the bridge he creates the WPI which is also give favors to Singapore...what is wrong with the recent government?

Bot peronda negara jiran halang nelayan Malaysia di Pulau Merambong
09/06/2008 7:29pm

Sambil menunggu menonton EURO championship. Peminat Netherlands.

Izinkan,
'Mr. Bluemoon said',
The answer to your question, why Ayahanda Tun chose Pak Lah.

As we saw it.

It's been UMNO tradition to choose a successor from the VPs when DSAI was sacked.
1. Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak
2. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin
3. Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

The most senior and with the most expures in the cabinet and UMNO is Pak Lah. He was amongst the earliest member of UMNO and was the
the Patron of GPMS.
His family background in UMNO's struggles and above all
his Mr. 'Clean and Piety' image.
With due respect to the other two VPs. Although acquiring the top two VP posts, were suspected in exposure and abilities and/or have the character to be No. 2 when compared to Pak Lah. The came the 'lobbyists'.

If he was not the correct choice, the 2004 elections result would have differred.

What subsequent happened which neither the Tun nor the pundits noticed was the Rising Son In Law.
Well, Mr. Bluemoon, if you were the
PM then...?

Lets not cry over spilled milk.
Que sera sera.
Perhaps PRU 13 would be fateful for
Pak Lah and that 'Little Rascal'.

PM is too dumb to do anything on his own, so there should be many others in co-hoots with him or plan for and with him. In this particular disclosure as well as the other 3 disclosures which you will come forward in good time, I am sure his family (and extended family) interest comes foremost. With the SIL snooping and interfering for his personal vested interest to plunder the country and his son garnering all the lucrative contracts under the name of absolute poor governance, no wonder we are made to pay for everything when all the subsidies are to be removed by the impractical Shahril under the guise of free market practices.

Yes I did hear from my friends in JB that they were truly disappointed by aborted crooked bridge when they saw the potential benefits from it. I was told by many that PM is a very vicious unforgiving person and your story confirms PM hideous character. The pressure on Tan Sri Sanusi Junid to relinquish his post as President of UIAM is another good example. But PM and his family are worse than hideous; in their mischievous and fraudulent endeavors, they are traitors and rot of the Nation and to the Bangsa Melayu and all Malaysians.

Assalamualaikum Tun,

Malaysia is blessed with your leadership, but sadly now its whitering. Now I'm begining to see why there's a threat of the opposition taking over, why you left UMNO, and it's all becoz of PM Abdullah and his cronies bent on tapping everything the country have, and throwing the crumbs to the rakyat. Though many people are against you, but many more still behind you. You have said "...you can't please everyone..." but I, for one would would trust my life in your hands. I have seen how you've defended our sovereignity, brought quantum leap progress, foresee crisis and prepared us, planned the future of at least one generation ahead, much to the envy and fear of the "kiasu" singapore.

Folks... The crooked bridge was a check on singapore and an assurance to the economic survival of Johore and Malaysia. That was Tun's strategy. Imagine this trade off, by allowing singapore to buy sand for land reclamation, have you all wondered how the geographical landscape would be by then? Of course, it would be to singapore's advantage! Now with Pulau Batu Puteh in theirs, they could stretch their boundaries up to there. Of course, now you can't coz its a pile of rocks, but what if it becomes land...by land reclamation...get it? Nothing is impossible.

Tun could foresee all these and worked out the strategy to protect Malaysia. Whatever he left behind was in good faith the successor completes it. But it looks like the successor is more eager in creating his personal legacy and wealth during his premiership than the welfare of its citizens. Why Tun left it before it is completed, let's not speculate. I'm sure there's a reason thats not privy to us.

What's happening today, especially the shocking petrol and diesal increase, and after reading Tun's article today, is clearly vengence by PM Abdullah on the rakyat for swinging the votes in the general election.

Let me share a comment by a forumer in one of the topics in CARI.com

" nak share skit...

ingat lagi masa Tun bg talk kat Uni10 - Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed Lecture Series
(12 December 2005, he's the 1st speaker for this lecture series hence his name), ramai yg rela park jejauh & jalan kaki ke hall tu to listen to him
(termasuklah sang tiram nih..)

felt so proud to be under the same roof with him, his talk for that day was about leadership, i still remember Tun kata a leader :

- needs great knowledge of things
- has capacity to think
- must be able to calculate & deduce
- must be able to make decision
- needs to have experience
- should be able to recognize the oncoming crisis before it blows
- should be able to deal with the crisis
- must be prepared to face the consequences for every decision he made(and put his head on the chopping block for this too...)

yg best sekali bila dia jawab 'definition of a leader'...

Tun kata ada 2 definisi - art or science?

art definition - a leader is like a conductor in an orchestra - just conduct...

science definition - a leader is like a doctor, the leader has to diagnose & treat the 'patient' (crisis or whatever issue that rises) by looking at the history; the signs & symptom; analysis of data and thru experience + knowledge. then he has to decise on the choice of treatment + remedies for the 'patient'

I pray for your good health for years to come, for we need your wisdom to see us through.

May Allah bless you and your family.

wassalam

More importantly if you would tell how you would react differently if you had known the situation now. This way it would be a lesson for all of us. Thanks.

JAMBATAN BENGKOK PERLU DILAKSANA!!!!

YAB Tun,

Even though you are no longer the PM, you still earned the right to be called YAB!

Please make a comeback, we will support you all the way. Semoga Allah memberkati dan panjangkan umur Tun!

Salam Tun. Your bold decisive action in the 97 Asian economic crisis saved many of us traders and merchants. Big or small and me included. Your retirement may now be proven as premature. You must make a comeback and save us all. You put us on this path of grand success, now don’t stand by it and see it all to waste by incompetent others. You must make a comeback and put the house in proper order again. You could have easily leaded us to remain farmers, never knowing the pride of progress and development. But you did not. You pushed, you kicked and you whipped us all into accomplishment and advancement. Now you must save all this from destructions. Many await your active re-entry again to save the day. You owe us that! -Kamal Ahmad Yahya.

Assalamualaikum Tun :)

I learn this from a South Korean romance comedy

Zhuge Liang's Chu Shi Biao

Zhuge Liang first addressed the dangerous situation of Shu Han. He warned Emperor Liu Shan that the work of the previous Emperor, Liu Bei, was not finished. Although Liu Bei had successfully built a new kingdom, Shu Han was still the weakest out of the Three Kingdoms. If dire measures were not taken, Shu Han could very well fall into destruction and elimination as an entity.

He advised Emperor Liu Shan:
[1] transparency and willingness to accept criticism, fair judgment & avoid petty and corrupt officials
[2] control his speech and dignity, and to listen for new ideas so that the works of Liu Bei would not be lost
[3] good judiciary, calling for Liu Shan to treat every officials the same way and avoid favorism
[4] to look for wise officials and put his trust in them

The Chu Shi Biao ended with Zhuge Liang's expression of his loyalty and emotions.

..................

Even their romantic comedy expands my mind. Their wikipedia page is filled with accomplishments. I think that's what we Malaysians need to do to be respected internationally. Avoid pettiness, strategize, accomplish.

Seol is known as the "Miracle on the Han River" - from a hopeless destroyed post-war Seoul to today's global economic powerhouse. I can't help but respet them. I wish Malaysia is as such. :)

Tun,...

I have an idea for you "as an brilliant options". You may choose to go back into UMNO and contest in the coming December elections for the Presiden post (where majority of the MT members will accept you back). Secondly, you may create a new party.. habis cerita. You know you could do that. Please show me and all rakyat Malaysia about your genuine commitment/good intention. We are always here, waiting for you to take a drastic action in order to save this loving, gracious and peaceful country. How long can you be patient with this disaster?.

xfiajAssalamualaikum Tun,

Inilah orang kata, TIDAK BERSYUKUR.

Adilkah?

Habis sepah madu dibuang!

Sedikit sebanyak pergolakan ekonomi tampak dilihat!

Kononnya index bskl melambung sampai RIBU! Tetapi, masih sama! bagaimanakah? Kononya ekonomi sudah pulih, tetapi sebenarnya ia menurun tanpa disedari!

Pekerja kerajaan DINAIKKAN gaji, BARANG PUN NAIK!.

Kami swasta?

Makan asap!

KONONNYA MAHU KELUARKAN "BACKUP PLAN" tetapi! semua kedai sudah naik sepuluh sen, naik 30 sen. Semua mahu naik!

Kami?

Naik ANGIN!

Dear Tun,
Government projects which received the mandate of the people and approved by the cabinet should receive its due right to be implemented despite change of leadership. Discontinuation of projects have proved to incur great loss to public funds and does not benefit the people. Malaysians who are taxpayers have the right to know the usage of public funds by the government and hold the government responsible for the appropriate use of public funds. May we enlighten ourselves with the following verses from the Quran:
“O ye that believe! betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you” (Surah An-Anfal, verse 27).
“That they took usury, though they were forbidden; and that they devoured men's substance wrongfully; We have prepared for those among them who reject Faith a grievous punishment” Surah AN-nisaa, verse 161.
