RAPID KL: Answers to questions & SAPP

1. My son-in-law was not and has never been Chief Executive Officer of MTrans. He was working with the company. I do not know why Prasarana should require 1,500 buses in 1995. It may have taken over the LRT lines but it had already got buses for the feeder system.

I have been informed that Rapid KL belong to the Ministry of Finance and not Khazanah. This increases the mystery of the 1,500 buses for Prasarana.

2. I confess I persuaded MTrans to go into the manufacture of the monorail train, build the tracks and operate it. There was no other Malaysian company willing to do so at that time. As the development cost was high I had to assure MTrans it would be given first preference if a monorail is to be built in Kuala Lumpur.

My main interest is to bring in the technology. I wanted Malaysia not just to use its own monorail trains but to export them as well.

Foreign companies were only interested in selling the train and the lines i.e. not to invest but to get a Government contract.

If being given the rights to risk their own money to acquire monorail technology, develop and test and then build the system in Kuala Lumpur when no others were willing constitute monopoly then I stand guilty.

If my son-in-law happened to be in this company and I did not penalise this company I am very sorry. Since no other company was interested penalising MTrans would mean no Malaysian made monorail train or system.

3. I did not authorise a bailout of the company. The Government talked with MTrans for a monorail system for Putrajaya which could provide some relief for the company.

But the Abdullah Government cancelled this project after the company had built the bridge and part of the track. Government only paid a part of the cost. After this MTrans financial position became worse.

Its value plummeted and Scomi bought only the manufacturing plant in 2006. This was the profitable part of the company.

The Kuala Lumpur Monorail system was acquired by Khazanah when it went into receivership. It was not profitable.

There was no bailout i.e. the Government did not inject capital to revive the company during my premiership. It was a simple purchase by Scomi and Khazanah of a company bankrupted by a decision of the Government after I stepped down.

I am glad that after Scomi bought MTrans it is now making profit. But then Scomi bought the profitable manufacturing plant.
If Utusan is to be believed Scomi only refurbishes Rapid KL buses. If refurbishing gives 20 million Ringgit profits in 2006 i.e. the first year of acquisition as announced by Scomi then the management of Scomi must be brilliant.

It is also no mean feat to get 70 buses out of 150 buses tendered out by Rapid Penang.

Five other companies got the balance of 80 – or 16 buses each. I wish them luck.

SAPP

Tiny SAPP (Sabah Progressive Party) wants to move a motion of no-confidence in Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Apparently SAPP is still confident in Barisan Nasional.

As expected we hear the usual chorus of pledges by the other BN parties to support Abdullah.

When will BN party leaders wake up to the fact that the majority of Malaysians do not want Dato Seri Abdullah as Prime Minister? It was this inability to appreciate the feelings of the people that led to the disastrous 2008 election results by them.

The peninsular BN parties should realise that they have become irrelevant.

Ignore the people and you will find yourself totally rejected.

Dear Tun,
Before we can change the country, we must change the people first. Revise government policy should change. The "hak orang melayu" should be firm. Fix oil price for Singaporean and Siamese. Allow more than one company to operate public transport. Upgrade port Klang to be the main port in Asia Pacific. We Malaysian should develop technologies, not to be and end user only.
Who build Malaysia? Is it us or Indon, Bangla, Gurka...

Assalamualaikum Tun,

Apakah kekuatan BN sekarang?

1. GERAKAN dah hancur lebur jadi pasembor kat Pulau Pinang.

2. MCA pun dah terbalik. Kalah teruk. Nasib baik Ong Ka Ting bertanding di Johor. Cuba letak dia kat Penang masa PRU12? Dia pun lingkup masuk longkang jugak.

3. MIC dah tak boleh tunjuk taring. Big boss pun tertiarap kt Sg. Siput (note: Kubu Kuat Samy)

4. PPP = Pun bungkus jadi kari.

5. Parti Komponen Sabah/ Swak = Itu sahaja lah yg ada pun.

Justeru, apa yg ada pada BN selain kereta besar, rumah besar, gaji besar, ego besar, cakap besar?

Semua besar, cuma otaknya kecil.

Have u heard today that packages of tenders are coming out hastily from Kementerian Pembangunan Infrastruktur (KPI) Sabah.

Well maybe Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, the KPI stete minister from SAPP can shed the light.

By the way, KPI controls 3 main departments dishing out contracts
1. JKR Sabah
2. Jabatan Air Sabah
3. Jabatan Keretapi Sabah.

Hmm.. must be some desperation coming from certain people affected by Yong Teck Lee's announcement yesterday.

Dr. M, what is your take on this?

Harga saham syarikat tinggi.

Kontrak RapidKL di batalkan. Pendapatan tiada. Harga saham menurun.

Orang lain datang beli dengan harga rendah.

Senang nya hati.

Siapa yang batalkan kontrak.

Siapa yang beli.

Memang susah nak faham urusniaga macam ini.

Sekian, terima kasih.

Dean Tun,

Thanks for your explanation on the RAPID KL and other issues that you have been consistently adding in this blog. Keep it up.

You are one of a kind and one of the best Statesman this continent ever have.

You are right about our PM, in my opinion he is 'king of wishful thinking'. He still doesn't get it. As usual, who is the victim due to all this quagmire? The Rakyat.

God bless you!
Cheers!

Dear Tun,

First let me convey my total appreciation for everything you did during your premiership and indeed you have been a great source of inspiration to us, young Malaysians.

Growing up during your tenure is a privilege.I am also glad to have met you during one of your open house back in your hometown in 2003. You are a warm and approachable as a person, and your sheer brilliance is reflected in all your writings.

As for the current administration, I totally agree that we have been duped into believing that all evil were caused by the remnants from your administration, thus all the accusations. The practice of awarding contracts to family members is the relic of Tun Dr. Mahathir's, so it is not wrong for the current administration to continue the practice.( Khairy Jamaludin and his enterprising schemes, etc, etc)

Malaysians are growing wary of the current development in our country. I am afraid that eventually the final straw will be on the camel's back, and triggered chaos nationwide. It will be ironic to see Malaysia crumbles after celebrating its 5oth anniversary last year.

Coming from East Malaysia, all the malaise that emanates from the federal level created uneasiness among us.I guess its time for us to change and take a stand in voicing out our dissatisfaction towards the blatant disregards of our well being.

And we shall do it through the ballot box.

Yang kelakar tu, a day before SAPP nak usul undi tak percaya, Pak Lah kata dalam Utusan Malaysia(muka 2 lagi) dia tak tahu soal pati keluar BN.

Of course lah, adviser dia bagitau berita nak bagi dia syok aje and Pak Lah only listens to what he wants to hear aje.

Salam sejahtera ayahda Tun,

Sayangnya jelas isyarat yang dihantar balik ialah kepimpinan tidak perduli dengan suara rakyat, mungkin there`s just too much at stake.

The truth will prevail.

Assalamua'laikum Tun,

Like you, i am totally flabbergasted at how the people around Abdullah seemed to be blinded to the current predicament/mood of the people. They seemed to continuously think we are either stupid or indifferent to whatever shenanigans they have done after 101 days in power.

The people are angry-I certainly am and i have had enough! Credit where its due, Datuk Yong has at least make his stance known.Much can be said of Abdullah pawns-who are more interested in their own political survival/interest/poket baju/seluar

As a Penangite and of Malay origin-I am deeply disappointed with Abdullah's legacy. The fact of a matter is the Malays in Penang are being marginalised by the failings of UMNO and BN led by incompetent leaders who have no interest of whatsoever in our socioeconomic progress. It is Abdullah who is responsible for 'ethnic cleansing' of the Malays; from the erosion of Non-bumis confidence in Malay leadership to the dire identity pluralism especially amongst Malay youths.UMNO is tainted and its of poignant regret to note that in order to 'restructure' ourselves we might end up having to let UMNO be sacrificed for a supposedly arrival of a 'New Dawn'.

There were things which I would not have agreed with you Tun, but you have my utmost respect for your charismatic and long sighted leadership. Foremost i sincerely believe you were Bapa for All Malaysian regardless of race and religion.

Take care Tun.

Dear Tun,

The difference is that you were a technology driven Prime Minister. You were very focus what you want Malaysia to be. You were willing to take the risk in high tech heavy investment ventures to ensure that Malaysia is in fast track mode. I found that your style of managing the country was whenever you initiate something new you always follow up closely the progress and monitor whether what you plan became a reality. A good glaring example is the development of Langkawi. You had turned Langkawi from a sleeping island into a real vibrant and holiday resort island. But unfortunately, for the past 4 years I observe that Pak Lah is neglecting totally the development of Langkawi. He simply doesn't have the initiative to add further value to Langkawi's development. Actually, there are a lot more things can be done to upgrade Langkawi into a world class resort island. It is very sad indeed, to see Langkawi now being more or less stagnant in its development. What a shame.

Pak Lah seems to announce a lot of things but nothing seems to take off. Everything is in limbo and he doesn't really follow up what he has planned, if ever he has plans at all. Why? I think all the plans do not come from his idea by just superficial plans. His normal statement is always to focus on the 9th Malaysia Plan which has been laid out. That is a reflection that he is not being able to think outside the box. BASICALLY HE IS JUST PURE LAZY AND HAS NO CAPACITY TO THINK LIKE A PRIME MINISTER.

Dearest Tun,
There are many capable Malaysian engineers that could have realized your dreams but unfortunately in any technical business negotiation they were never invited to evaluate project feasibility and how to make it feasible. They are consulted much later when the business deals are closed and the real work begins. Most, CEOs are non-technical or even non-science base professionals and therefore has no inkling whatsoever on the technical or science aspects of the industry. I am not saying they are not good in their work but one cannot afford to take technical requirements lightly and it so vital to have knowledgeable and technically capable individuals to advice.
I am an engineer and there were times I was asked to look into designs that was absolutely impossible to realize with the stipulated budget and within a short timeframe. Sometimes the requirement even calls for one to look into defying the laws of physics. Engineers will be the last to know the reason they have to find a solution is because their bosses have promised and cut a deal to supply. So even if there is a will, there is no way.
In Malaysia, many people riding at the top in big companies are there because they are politically-savvy, they are popular among the politicians, and sad but true the circle of comrades that politicians keep are usually not very good in the field of science or technology.

Of course Tun, you are an exception to the above (with reference to politician).

Assalamualaikum Tun,

To my surprise to this very day, we are still lacking of efficient transportation in the city. People do not have alternative choices of efficient public transport when the oil price went up and have to resort to using their own vehicle.

Furthermore the government does not impose the requirement to have seamless link/connection between monorail, LRT, STAR Lrt and Komuter. Was there a thought process which was lacking or it was just a mere oversight on the government or there were issues that could not be resolved.

The government should give priority to public conveniences so that Monorail Station will not stop short 200 metres of the Main KL Sentral.

The government should look into the public interest instead of particular individual which to my sadness it is still an issue in KL especially.

As long as there are some personal interest in making decision for public transportation, I could not see a conclusive public transportation could be resolved in the near future.

The government need to review this quickly and effectively...

Dear Tun,

Many are waiting with bated breath how to Malaysian political landscape is going to transform after SAPP's pronouncement. But many more who's politics are confined to food, clothes, bills, mortgages, car loans etc will continue to toil under the current circumstances.

How is Malaysia to overcome this as we did during the 1997 financial crisis under Tun's leadership?

Unfortunately, at this point in time, there is no easy answer. More despairingly, no concrete leadership is seen in solving this Malaysian plight.

Here's hoping our leaders will take heed of Tun's actions and see the state of Malaysia as it really is and not some falsely projected landscape of economic and political nirvana which it is not.

I support you always Tun!!

293SAPP's decision seem expected as press already reported a Barisan Party is going to withdrawl from BN. The decision made by the party president might due to "personal greed" as someone said. Anyway I think this is a Massive Signal and Warning to Mr.PM and his deputy that rakyat has lost confidence and patience to his inability to lead the country.I don't understand why other BN leader so eager to protect PM when anyone voice their dissatisfaction towards PM.I don't think this is "loyalty".

When will them awake? this is a good question by rakyat also.

Tun I have addicted to your blog. I will browse through your weblog everyday. Thanks for opening my eye to see what is happen in this country.

Assalamualaikum Tun,

SAPP begitu berani bersuara

sekian Tun...salam hormat.

Salam Tun,

You are an economist + doctor by profession whereas Pak Lah is just a PTD officer.

We Malaysians, need a new leader, a new Prime Minister, who must at least have the quality of yours. We need a new PM who works genuinely for the Rakyat, no personal / family interest in his positions, good in economy, outspoken, sharp and alert. I don't see anybody else who is qualified except for Ku Li.

Me, and maybe most of the Malaysian, don't mind voting you if you decide to step back into the PM seat. At least we know, that you know what to do as you have the 22-years experience in your portfolio.

Aslmkm Ybhg. Tun...

Fikirkan lah wahai sekelian pembesar UMNO......

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, I am sure you have reached wisdom a long time ago, and you are still in this anugerah. I praise the Lord.

I am now seeing clearly the RapidKL bit, in relations to MTrans and more. I thank you again for this added information so valuable in my understanding of the case in point.

In addition, I agree to the point that you raised and stated, "ignore the people and you will find yourself totally rejected."

To me, from the top, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and each of them leaders in Barisan Nasional, who have shown support, for what ever reason, I prefer each of them to be wise too.

Perhaps be safe from a lumping of weaknesses just because you are groveling Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who is truly a weak leader.

This is so basic! So simple, and yet I cannot see one leader in Barisan Nasional who has this level of wisdom.

To me, Yong Teck Lee, in relations to this, is a Hero. At least, my hero.

The basic is, for example, 100 individuals, not all, and not a lot can be a leader, or other level leaders. The hierarchy and the structure is such.

This is about the one that is legal and an accepted pyramid, in an organizational structure.

So, out of the 100, we agree to appoint one leader, and subsequently a few more to head divisions, departments, units or what is similar.

So, whence a leader is voted and agreed upon, how can he turn to gasak us?

Shahrir Samad, please take note.

If a leader, suddenly after given the mandate and power, choose to pressure us, unnecessarily, as in raising the price of petrol and diesel, to a situation that result in chain reaction of a raising in prices of other goods and services, then, what Yong Teck Lee has done and is doing, is truly representing a part or the majority of the 100.

In this context for example, Shahrir Samad is words.

While others, may be looking at in their hearts. Then found nothing. But, parroting others to voice support for Abdullah Ahmad badawi, who might be somehow possibly be rewarded after all these shall end.

All Barisan Nasional component party leaders, please spend a moment to observe Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and you shall know who a leader, he actually and really is.

This is one:
In response, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, is quoted as saying, "I have not been able to satisfy his (Yong's) personal greed."

He has a choice to response in may ways and words, yet he spontaneously pick that one.

Then one media put the title, "Pengkhianat".

Come on. Please, be wise...

01. Have you ever wondered, how Abdullah Ahmad Badawi leads you in relations to other Barisan Nasional leaders.

Any fairness?

Yong Teck Lee, do not think so. An other may not agree, but more than two, agrees with him.

02. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi described Yong Tech Lee, as greed, or tamak. This means, from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's view, that Yong Teck Lee, gets, but wants more than this. And this want is personal. That means not professional or public.

Look as long as you want at Yong Teck Lee. Is he a Pengkhianat, or a Hero?

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has criticized his character, a leader, as such.

But, can you also look at Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, even if for a while.

Look at Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, also, from Yong Teck Lee's perspective, his party, SAPP.

Then, from the Malaysian perspectives of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

An increasing number sense that, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, is greedy or tamak, choosing to remain in power, sitting on the chair, while more and more individuals in this country no longer have confidence in him.

Sanglang can be a blessing, a by-election to see the worth if any on Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's leadership, and you too.

What is your right is to your judgment.

However, any wrong judgment by you, on Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's leadership, then you also can join the band wagon, while, you "ignore us the people and you will find yourself totally rejected too."

Dear Tun,

RAPID KL Answers:-

It is indeed a very detail explanation about MTrans activities on KL Monorail. I'm not sure your son-in-law has some connection on this nevertheless I'm more appreciate on your initiative in having local company to become technology exporter.

It was a brilliant idea. I believed you adopted this idea from the Japanese. They have the similar spirit and the 1st country in the world that possessed the highly skillful "copying" skills. Sooner later it follows by the Korean and of course China and India.

I guess this could be the intention you want to setup MSC and primarily deliver from Cyberjaya. Although we have not reach there yet, infact we should have, the location is merely dedicated for outsourcing or share service company. Not much innovation company around, the current PM was not very well verse in this area and does not realised the importance of being innovated company that produces stuffs all locally and be able to marketed worldwide.

SAPP:

On the SAPP decided not to support our sleepy PM emotionally and socially, it does not come to me as suprises. Sooner or later more other BN component parties will follow-thru.

Our PM never learned the lesson as if he is living on his own island isolated from everything.

In my view, is just a matter of time, SAPP will lead others to table the motion of voting no-confidence to the leadership of PM, subsequently move out from BN.

I believed they will become an independant party for the time being until they know which party will benefited sabahan later. I suspected Datuk Yong have take note your advice in moving out from BN/UMNO.

SHAME ON HIM!!! More will take the same action like SAPP...we just wait and see...

Tun, about the monorail issue , it is sad if some people still put the blame on you.To me your action were always for the benefit of the country and there should be no issue of favoritism or cronies as none of your family members are involved directly...not like our current leader...his son or son in law always get the preference and reward every time a profitable new

Tun,

Instead of criticizing SAPP...we should applaud them for standing up for the good of the people of Sabah.

I cannot say much about our political parties here in Peninsular Malaysia. Most of them don't have the guts to say anything. If the PM told them to jump off the highest level of the Petronas building..they will probably do it...because they were told to do so.

Tun I just collected my car rebate..when is the PM going to give us a monthly allowance...since Bank Negara is his private bank...he should dish more out every month...that will be fantastic...yes I am being sarcastic!!!

Thank You Tun

I believe it is good for any BN component party to express their frank views about what they think about the government's leadership.

This is a sign of democracy in expression of opinions.

But words of dissatisfaction are just only words. Words of dissatisfaction should be supported by real positive actions.

If a BN component party is really unhappy about the BN government leadership, the next question is why are they still with the government. The BN component party is actually free to leave BN and become independent party or join the opposition.

since a BN component party is so unhappy about the BN government leadership, the best thing to do is to leave the government.

Take action and not just express in words.

Dear Ayanda Tun Che Det,

You SIMPLY MUST READ Jebat Must Die latest entry.

Here is the link: http://jebatmustdie.wordpress.com/

And in case that doesn't take you there, I'm c&p it here:

Umno does not protect the Malay’s dignity anymore
19 06 2008

When Umno leaders forgot about their purpose and are too busy protecting their autocratic but weak leader, it is left to Dr Mahathir, a non member of Umno to protect the interests of the Malays. In this case, Dr Mahathir is more Malay than Umno itself. All Malays see this and appreciate the irony.

If Umno choose to be irrelevant to the Malays, then so be it. They are too greedy and too self absorbed with whatever power they have acquired. Blinded by personal greed, these leaders are rendered useless. They have lost the ability to fight for and defend their own people. They have become a race of their own. With money and power as their Sultans.

Let me write in Bahasa Melayu so that most of the Umno leaders can understand this article. Tan Sri Muhammad Mohd Taib please take note.

5. Mengapa Datuk Seri Syed Hamid, semasa menjadi Menteri Luar, tidak menjawab semua perkara yang ditimbulkan oleh Encik Matthias Chong berhubung jambatan bengkok? Mengapa asih tidak menjawab hingga kini? Encik Matthias Chong di pihak yang benar?

6. MCA, MIC, Gerakan dan banyak parti lain mempunyai institut / pusat penyelidikan masing-masing. Mengapa Umno tidak menubuhkannya?

7. Samy Vellu menyalahkan Tun Dr Mahathir di atas kegagalan kaum India sedangkan dia lebih lama menjadi Presiden MIC (sejak 1979) berbanding Tun Dr Mahathir menjadi Perdana Menteri. Adakah benar tuduhan tuduhan itu? Mengapa pemimpin Umno diam?

12.3 Syed Hamid Albar meletakkan jawatan kerana kehilangan Pulau Batu Putih (isu kedaulatan negara)?

12.3 Khalid Nordin berhenti kerana gagal mempertahankan kuota biasiswa anak anak bumiputera?

Sekian.

I have been following Tun's writing in this very blog and could not but notice some comments made by some individuals who blamed Tun on what has happened to Malaysia.

In a multiracial country like Malaysia, you cannot totally eliminate racism as we are all being brought up from a very unique and different backgrounds especially those who were not growing up in Metropolitan cities like KL. I believe, what Tun has done is to lessen the gaps between each races hoping that the racism level will also go down to the level it is not affecting us MALAYSIANS.

It is a most difficult task. Seriously, even in country like US, racism is still widely practiced by the so called open minded caucasians!

Also, it will not be easy to take care of politicians from each major group race to unite under one banner and build a nation. To certain extent, I do understand most actions that Tun has taken during his time! It is basically to uphold the sovereignty of this land.

To whom who uttered racial remarks on Tun, I have one advice - see yourself in the mirror first! To you Tun, thank you for raising and teaching us the true meaning of harmonious life! God Bless you.

Assalamualaikum TUN & fellow Bloggers...

- RAPID KL -

Malaysian todays are facing price hike either it is about petrol or rice or other necessities consumable. Due to that situation, using personal car to travel to work is considered as expensive since petrol is now at RM2.70 per litre. Other alternative are necessary i.e Public Transportation like LRT, MONORAIL and public buses such as RAPID KL or HOP ON HOP OFF buses or the dangerous and robustly METROBUS.

Despite having these public transports yet we still face problem and complaint made that buses are not enough, always late and never on time. The Government promised that public transport is the main priority and will be increased to ease the problems. EVERY MALAYSIAN knows that there is thousand of RAPID KL buses kept in storage (like discussed in the previous blog)and not used. Reason - it is unrepairable and unsafe for public usage. What is the reason behind it,HAVING THOUSAND OF BUSES PLACED IN COMPOUND STORAGE yet it is unused? This is the part where every Malaysians is wondering untill today.

Now with regard to Mtrans situation... it is not entirely a wrong decision made by the government. In fact it is actually a smart move made by certain groups of individuals in the government in making business profit. Yes, no doubt that the idea was to obtain technology know-how transferred into Malaysia. It will boost skills, knowledge and modern technologies to Malaysia, we create our own experts via the company. Apart from that, if it works, we may even export our own made monorail compartments or tracks to other ASEAN country if they wish to modernise their public transportation. In reality, other ASEAN will looked at MALAYSIA for its ability to build and heading toward modernization.

Now SCOMI bought the manufacturing plant, Mtrans was broken up pieces by pieces and scattered, unable to grow further. BUT it was a smart move by SCOMI taking over the Plant, now they're making profit. NOW THE QUESTION WHICH WE WOULD HAVE TO PONDER UPON - WHO IS ACTUALLY BEHIND SCOMI? WHO OBTAIN THE ADVANTAGES AND IT'S BENEFIT AS WELL AS PROFITS?

Think about it...

SAPP - NO CONFIDANCE MOTION AGAINST PM

Rumours after rumours in the headline, talks among self appointed 'politicians' in the coffee shops, all the anticipation and suspense, FINALLY THE WORDS ARE OUT... SAPP making declaration of no confidence against the PM.

When this happen, what does it shows? There is distrust toward the leadership of BN lead by DSAB and his stooges.

Despite the 2008 election result and losing 5 states, BN can still maintain that they are strong, able and will continue to lead the nation. It seems the situation is from bad to worse.

The rest of fellow MPs and DUNs making statement that they will backed DSAB, honestly speaking it is just to ensure their own position in the government and avoiding wrath of certain "individual". If they decide to follow SAPP decision, the end of their wealth and up-scale life. No more luxury and privilages for them. I agree with TUN that this declaration shows that certain part of political groups are dissatified with the leadership and administration of today's government.

Making declaration of no confidence to PM is a matter of rights and we can't blame SAPP for doing it. If SAPP feels that PM and government fail to keep their promises to SABAHAN then SAPP have rights to do so.

WE JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT WILL TRANSPIRE IN THE NEXT 48HOURS, the moment of truth is just around the corner and the suspense is truly a killer (just like watching movie) hahaha...

I guess we only know the moment of truth next week...

THANK YOU TUN... it is always a pleasure reading your blog and having able to express ourselves herein is always good and healthy.

Itu lah jawapannya. Bila dia dah sedar orang Johor benci Pak Lah, dia pun ikut jadi macam orang Johor.....bukan kah LALANG selalu macam tu??? Keh, keh, keh....Keua Pemuda UMNO konon!
Tak seronok la bila Ketua Pemuda UMNO duduk diam, menyembunyikan diri disaat-saat genting UMNO macam ni.

Buat Hishamudin, apa pun yang awak buat kami Pemuda UMNO sentiasa perhatikan awak, sebab awak kan ker Ketua. Kami tahu awak diam sebab takut hilang sokongan orang Johor. Dia jadi ahli UMNO cawangan mana? Cawangan tingkat 4? Awak tingkat berapa Hishamudin oooii! Atau awak takut kat orang luar tu?
Inilah KETUA Pemuda UMNO! Cakap la.., tentang la kalau awak rasa patut menentang. Awak tu KETUA PEMUDA UMNO!

Isu SAPP;
Menarik cukup menarik. Sesungguhnya Parti ini dah pecah rekod kebangsaan. Syabas!

Selepas ini parti mana akan ikut?

MCA? Ahlinya takan bagitau siapa dia sokong. Mereka mungkin masih duduk dalam MCA tapi tak sokong BN, so tak payah keluar BN pun tak apa! Apa salahnya pemimpin MCA mereka bekata mereka sokong BN tapi sebanarnya ahli-ahli mereka tidak sokong. Tak rugi....! Rugi ke? Rugi apa?

MIC?

SAPP silap banyak....kalau SAPP duduk diam-diam buat macam menyokong tapi sebenarnya tak menyokong, satu sen pun diorang tak rugi. Buat macam MCA & MIC. Sekarang ni mereka tunjuk mereka berani, tapi ingat berani jer tak cukup....strategi mesti ada.
Nak lagi melingkup kalau SAPP join PR, maka berkuburlah karier SAPP dan partinya selama-lamanya.
Ingat!

Dok tunggu2 sistem park&ride.. rupanye dah cancel.. sayang..

-- saja nak timbulkan spekulasi, batal project putrajaya, saham jatuh, takeover, yang takeover macam sendiri yang startkan business pegi bid oversea project. good business plan.. but not so much of a risk taker..

Nampak sangat kenyataan Pak Lah tu tak berasas.

P/S: Pak Lah nak kata orang tamak boleh, kalau orang kata dia yang tamak nak melenting....Sedarlah sikit orang tak suka, muka dah tak tahu malu camtu lah....

Dahlah Pak Lah, semua rakyat Sabah tahu apa yang Pak Lah ni pencuri kekayaan Sabah. Janji kosong jer lebih2...BIKIN PANAS....

Good afternoon sir,

What makes this SAPP a classic case of talking without thinking is when Pak Lah admits to not satisfying Mr.Yong's personal greed.
So this means he already managed to satisfy many others personal greeds.
To make matters worst, the other BN components still seem "ok" by this statements.
God help us...want to curi makan must also be smart about it lah!

Begitu liciknya muslihat PakLah Anak Beranak & Co. selepas MTrans menghadapi kemerosotan, Scomi took over the plant. Avenue Capital pula, sampai sekarang Select Committe tak selesai lagi membincangkannya-untung besar ECM Libra macam ular lidi menelan ular sawa. Samapi mati pun kenyang tak habis. Sekarang ni dgr cerita Petronas pulak yg dikaitkan dgn isu kenaikan harga minyak walhal yg buat keputusan adalah PakLah. Terror tak PakLah Anak Beranak & Co. Itu yg nampak yg tak nampak tak taulah lagi ...
Pasal SAPP, salute pada mereka sbb berani menongkah arus. Mungkin SAPP tau org UMNO tak berani nak menderhaka pada Presiden walaupun dah jelas Presiden tu dah jelas melencong dari perjuangan parti. Jadi apa salah mereka mulakan ... undikan sulit ... kalau PakLah gentleman apa nak takutkan kan ... benarkan aje usul itu dibahas dan diundi. Wassalam

Dear Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, interesting word, "tiny" SAPP, you have used here in this post.

I sense, what will happen in Parliament, we shall soon analyze, when we can read the number of votes coming to be in tune with Yong Teck Lee's tiny SAPP, coming from Members of Parliament, from Barisan Nasional.

Also, other surprises, I do expect!

However nevertheless, the tiny SAPP move, can be like a tiny insect alive in a man's brain.

This reminds us of Vietnam and United States of America.

Afghanistan and Russia.

And many more...

The tinyness has been significant in representing the larger majority of the Malaysians, and voters too.

What is the point being large, a party larger than the tiny SAPP, but whose voice is nothing less than a "pengecut"!

MAaf kalau terlebih kata. Sekian.

Berjuang demi AGAMA, BANGSA dan NEGARA.

Only those who are enjoying great benefit will support him. Also, they are just taking care of themselves rather than the rakyat.

Lastly thank you so much for this blog Tun.

I have been following your the progress in your blog since the very beginning of it as well as the current government. I must admit, being an average chinese born in the middle class family, I have never really been interested in the country's politics until when Dato' Seri AB took over from you. I truly admire and appreciate all your hardwork and effort done during your premiership in bringing us Malaysia, Malaysian to the eyes of the world, maintained and improved our standard of living. Tho we didnt live in a luxury way like Singaporeans, but for the past 20over years, we were very happy and minimum worries about cost of living and our daily lives. But since the past 8 years, we are always living in worries, uncertainties, not sure what would happen next.

My Dearest Tun, what should we do now? What could we do to save the situation from further deteriorate and destruction? I hate to see all the good things that you have built all these years being falling down and going down the drain one by one in just a short time. I dont want our situation to revert back to where we were before you Tun.

I know it's not being fair to you but I am wondering if there is any possibilities that you stand up again and get all these nonsense and problems happening now strait again before further damages is done? I really hope for that, giving us the Rakyat that has never been given up hope of BN all these while, a light of HOPE again!!!

Dear Tun,
I must say that all these economical dealings would not interest me as much as the issue of disunity among Malays and friction in Barisan, especially Umno. Its ok with me even if you choose not to explain yourself over these dealings as I believed that there are definitely more to be explained by the current leadership over their current dealings.

Now its time for us to unite and dig out the torn in Barisan and UMNO. We need to know the cause of our disunity and fractions, know where do we stand, assess the situation, calculate the risk, find solution over and deal with it effectively. My views are based on my readings, daily experiences and "kedai-kopi" talks. Never under estimate "kedai-kopi" talks as it is the translating medium of ordinary rakyat like me on what we think of current situation as well as leadership.
From these sources, I conclude that the rakyat and especially Malays rejected Barisan and UMNO in particular because they are:
(1)disgusted with the arrogance, monopolies (read:cronysm), "cakap tak serupa bikin" of the leadership.
(2) giving backdoor lifeline to some old (automatic) garbages, who will (automatically) agree to whatever come out of the leadership without having careful thought of its effect on rakyat.
(3) the hidings and spinnings of the truth by the closely controlled medias.
(4) the appointment of some individuals whose integrity are known to be contestable and doubtful.
(6) disrespect towards YOU.
(7) deceiving projection and availability of a pakatan which operates by a Control Tower.

Meanwhile, the friction inside UMNO is because of:
(1) disrespect towards YOU
(2) the attitude of its leader who do not want to admit fault but pointing to others.
(3) leadership quality i.e weak administration, less knowledgable, no authority and control over the downliners, no sense of direction, undecided, too dependent on the many “advisors”.
(4) integrity i.e "tidak apa" attitude towards the involvement of relatives in governing matters and does not stop their involvement and influence in major decision making.
(6) decisions in, and with, the interst of certain parties in mind, be it economical, political or policies.
(5) unable to listen to the rakyat.
(6) ignoring the ordinary members' and grassroots' view and much worst, spinning it over to their likings.
(6) Offering blind loyalty.

Where do we stand? We are no where near unity and are now in a self-destruction mode if we allow the current situation and it's leadership carry on. It is so obvious that Rakyat have lost their confidence in Barisan's brand of leadership and UMNO, who form the core of the Barisan, are confronting each others. Umno's failure means Barisan's failure and if Barisan failed, guess who will benefit from all these!! The current self destructing leadership has to be changed as until now, they are unable to regain confidence and trust of the Rakyat but breeds hatred towards them. We are obviously in need of a capable leader who can steer us to a common direction as the current leadership are disable. This new leader doesn't have to please every section but he/she have to be effective enough to stir and spear unity among us and Barisan, guide with a clearer direction, patriotic to the common struggle of the Rakyat and Malays. We risks our UMNO if we keep on confronting each other and it will be unthinkable if we fail to unite and change as we will lose our authority over whatever that have been made ours. At this stage of transition, we need a leader to spark and head our common voice and I do not see anybody as fit as you. In the process, we need to be advised of our every moves and a nucleus to spark our movement.By then, our (already) huge numbers would turn heads and our voice will caught attention. At this stage, another leader will be needed for the movement of change. We need to start now or else risk the rights of our children. We have to show the Rakyat that we, amongst all the UMNO members, do not approve most of the current leadership's decision which jeopardized the Rakyat's interest! We, as much as the Rakyat would be, are burdened with their policies and want to change them.
We need a leader among us, advised by the best brain such as yours! Get up and dust off, unite now and start our move.. or else, it will be too late.

Tun, benarkan saya mengulas ttg anti mamak ni..

The DEMANDS MADE by SAPP leading to their calling for NO CONFIDENCE VOTE against Pak Lah WERE ALL ORIGINATED DURING YOUR TENURE AS THE PM OF MALAYSIA. Infact, the three of you including two former Finance Ministers and UMNO strongmen in ANWAR IBRAHIM AND TENGKU RAZALEIGH, WERE part of your so-called SOLUTIONS to solve SABAH by INTRODUCING UMNO as the LAST BUT BRIGHTEST ALTERNATIVE to keep their demands REVISITING THE TWENTY-POINTS MEMORANDA, at bay.

From Harris Salleh to Pairin Kitingan, Sabah has always been a torn among the roses for you and Federal Power.

What WERE THEIR DEMANDS (during those days), Tun? And were those any different than the one they had put on Pak Lah? Can you kindly TELL US?

Im not favoring Pak Lah, infact i want him to step down as much as Yong Teck Lee did. BUT i dont favor the REASONS gave by SAPP and Yong as with you against Harris and Pairin. As much as we both agree that Pak Lah should think hard about still serving the nation, we too cant deny the ABSURD AND MALICIOUS request made by SAPP and Yong.

Tun,

Saya ingin mengutarakan sedikit pendapat.

Saya tak kisah Pak Lah nak turun macam mana. Saya harap sangat selepas dia turun, Anwar bukan penggantinya.

Saya sokong Mahathirisme, sebab ia terbukti membawa pembangunan.

Berilah rakyat harapan baru..

The SAPP's attempt to pass a vote of no confidence on PM Badawi is not just a vote of no confidence against Badawi, but also one against the corrupt and racist BN/Umno regime. This move by SAPP must be seen not only from a political standpoint but also that of economic and social standpoints as well.

Apart from being robbed of their resources by the West Malaysian plunderers led by UMNO, East Malaysians have also found albeit too late that their cultural and religious identity have been robbed as well. Prior to the 1980's, non-Muslims were the majority population in Sabah. However today,we find that Muslims make the majority in the State. I've nothing against anyone wanting to embrace Islam or any other religion for that matter. However, what irks me is that the manner in which this drastic change in population has taken place.

It is a known fact that UMNO has manage to keep its hold on power by using Islam as its tool. The logic is simple here. As long as you get to increase the Muslim population, the stronger your power base will become. The reason for this is because prior to the March 8 General Elections, the majority of Muslims generally voted for BN. Only a few would vote for PAS. That's why countless number of Filipino Muslims and Indonesian Muslims were given the Mykad to increase the Muslim population in Sabah, and I suspect in Sarawak as well. Very often, as we have often noticed among especially the ethnic Indians in West Malaysia, the moment they convert to Islam, they immediately regard themselves as Malays and Indians no more. Many of these converts will take a Malay as their husbands or wife's all for the sake of enjoying Malay privilege's. They also make sure that their children are registered as Malay in their birth certificates.

The same thing is going on in Sabah and Sarawak. One day, you will find Malays the majority in these states as the number of conversions to Islam among non-Muslim Bumiputeras increases as well as the increasing number of Filipiono Muslims and Indonesian Muslims being granted citizenship. While you are reading this, many non-Muslim Bumiputeras are being brainwashed by a politically motivated Dakwah (missionary) campaign orchestrated by Umno itself at MARA Colleges, Public Universities, Teacher Training Colleges, Military and Police Academy's, Government Nursing Colleges as well as in the Civil Service. I must stress here that I'm not against Dakwah activities but what I'm against is any attempt made to convert someone by means of blackmail, coercion or plain brainwashing done to fulfill the political agenda of a certain political party. Religion is strictly between the individual and God and NOT Umno!

The New Economic Policy (NEP) is another reason why our East Malaysian brethren are feeling the way they do now against BN.The NEP is an affirmative action policy similar to what is in USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In these countries, the indigenous people do not hold any political power and are also in the minority. The ones who hold the political reigns are the White Colonialists and who are also in the majority. In short, the giver and receiver are different people. Unfortunately in Malaysia because the Malays are the dominant political force through Umno's own dominance, what has happen is that the NEP has been abused. The giver and the receiver here are the same people. Recent studies have shown that 61% of Sabah Bumiputeras and more than 50% of Sarawak Bumiputeras live below the poverty line. In fact Malaysia's Gini Coefficient is the highest in Southeast Asia because of high incidences of poverty in East Malaysia especially in Sabah where the State's GDP per capita is less than the national average.

The truth here is that due to Malay Muslim dominance of the BN government, the NEP had largely benefited the Muslim Bumiputeras in both states as well as in West Malaysia. Employment, business and educational opportunities were not equitably distributed to the non-Muslim Bumiputeras in Sabah and Sarawak under the NEP due to selective discrimination by a Malay Muslim dominated civil service. The end result has shown that the NEP is an abject failure. What made things worse was that due to Umno's politics of patronage, not all Malay Muslims have benefited from the NEP due to cronyism and nepotism which we stil see today.

I believe the Sabahans, Sarawakians and all Malaysians have had enough of the BN/Umno regime. What SAPP did is the precursor of things to come in the coming days and weeks. Brace yourself BN/Umno. The Second Political Tsunami is upon you!

Dear Tun,
The Barisan Nasional (BN) supreme council will hold an emergency meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss the move by the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) to table a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Well, well, well, this is the right opportunity for the Supreme Council members to demand the resignation of Pak Lah "point blank" if really they want BN component parties to survive and rule the country. Or else it is a matter of time the BN will disintegrate and break ranks.

It is very critical now. The rakyat is watching ernestly how the supreme council members will react and make their decision. The decision should not be fall short of demanding Pak Lah to resign immediately.. They have to be pragmatic and should not hide their hypocrisy by telling Pak Lah outrightly that his leadership has FAILED and must resign gracefully. Make no mistake about it. No two way about it. Pak Lah must be booted out to save BN. BN component parties cannot afford to drag on this bad situation of having a lame duck Prime Minister which is very detrimental and disasterous if not resolved. A lot of energy and time is wasted to let Pak Lah hang on to his position when it is obvious that he is no more welcome as the Prime Minister. PAK LAH HAS LOST THE RESPECT NOT ONLY FROM HIS COMPONENT PARTY MEMBERS BUT WORSE STILL FROM THE RAKYAT. He must accept this fact. The longer he stays on the worst it will become and everybody will be losers within BN component parties.

Good news.......

WHAT IS NEVER MENTIONED IN Mainstream Media like NST/TheStar/Utusan/BH are
these facts....

Malaysian PerCapita Income USD 5000
VS
Singaporean PerCapita Income USD 25000

Further The Star made a comparison of prices in Thailand , Singapore and
Indonesia .

For Thailand it is quoted at RM3.90/liter, however are they aware that in
Thailand new cars are cheaper than Malaysia by RM10,000? They pay only one
life time for their driving license? No renewal fee after that? Also that
goes for road tax as well? And do TheStar also aware that you can drive all
the way from Hadtyai to Bangkok on a six lane highway without paying any
Tolls ??!!

Whereas here in Malaysia you have to pay yearly renewal for road tax ,
driving license and TOLLS, TOLLS, TOLLS!!!

For Singapore how can you quote RM 5.20 ? Please quote in Singapore Dollars
because they are earning in Sing Dollars. You might as well say Europeans
are paying RM10/liter. RM5.20/liter = Sing $ 2.20/liter, still cheaper than
Malaysia in view of fact that Singapore is not a crude oil exporter. Are
you saying that you fill up petrol in Singapore by paying Ringgit?

In economy, dollar to dollar must be compared as apple to apple. Not
comparing like durian in M'sia is much cheaper than durian in Japan!! Of
course-lah, Japan is not durian producer!!! Comparing Malaysian durian with
Thailand durian make more sense!!

For Indonesia we might say is cheaper there at RM2.07/liter but compare
that to their level of income!

Now, let us compare the price with OIL PRODUCING countries:

UAE - RM1.19/litre
Eygpt - RM1.03/litre
Bahrain - RM0.87/litre
Qatar - RM0.68/litre
Kuwait - RM0.67/litre
Saudi Arabia - RM0.38/litre
Iran - RM0.35/litre
Nigeria - RM0.32/litre
Turkmenistan - RM0.25/litre
Venezuela - RM0.16/litre
MALAYSIA - RM2.70/litre

RM 2.70!!! Individual perspective:

As of last month a Toyota Vios would 'cause a damage' of about RM
89,000.
In the international market, a Toyota Vios is about USD 19,000
USD 19,000 = RM 62,700 (using the indicative rates of USD 1 = RM 3.30)
That makes Malaysian Vios owners pay an extra RM 26,300.

This RM 26,300 should be cost of operations, profit and tax because the
transportation costs have been factored in to the USD 19,000.

RM 26,300/ RM625 petrol rebate per year translates to a Vios being used for
42.08 years.

I do understand that the RM 625 is a rebate given by the government, but it
also means that one has to use the Vios for 42.08 years just to make back
the amount paid in taxes for the usage of a foreign car. Would anyone use
any kind of car for that long?

Now with these numbers in front of us, does the subsidy sound like a
subsidy or does it sound like a penalty? This just seems to be a heavy
increment in our daily cost of living as we are not only charged with high
car taxes but also with a drastic increase in fuel price.

With all the numbers listed out, I urge all Malaysians to join me in
analyzing the situation further.

Car taxation is government profit, fuel sales is Petronas' (GLC) profit
which also translates into government profit. The government may ridicule
us Malaysians by saying look at the world market and fuel price world wide.
Please, we are Malaysians, we fought of the British, had a international
port in the early centuries (Malacca), home to a racially mixed nation and
WE ARE NOT STUPID!!!

We know the international rates are above the USD 130/barrel. We understand
the fact that the fuel prices are increasing worldwide and we also know
that major scientist are still contradicting on why this phenomenon is
happening. Some blame Bush and his plunders around the world and some blame
climate change and there are others which say petroleum 'wells' are
getting
scarce.

Again we go back to numbers to be more straight fwd

1 barrel = 159 liters x RM2.70/liter = RM 429 or USD 134

On 1 hand, we are paying the full cost of 1 barrel of crude oil with RM2.70
per liter but on the other hand the crude oil only produces 46% of fuel.

Msia sells crude oil per barrel at USD130 buys back Fuel per barrel at
USD134. And not forgetting, every barrel of fuel is produced with 2 barrels
of crude oil.

1 barrel crude oil = produce 46% fuel (or half of crude oil), therefore
2 barrel crude oil = approximately 1 barrel fuel
In other words, each time we sell 2 barrels of crude oil, equivalently we
will buy back 1 barrel of fuel.

Financially,
Malaysia sell 2 barrel crude oil @ USD 130/barrel = USD 260 = RM 858
then, Malaysia will buy back fuel @ USD 134/barrel = RM 442/barrel
Thus, Malaysia earn net extra USD 126 = RM 416 for each 2 barrel of crude
sold/exported vs imported 1 barrel of fuel !!!
(USD 260-134 = USD 126 = RM416)

So where this extra USD 126/barrel income is channeled to by Malaysian
Govt?????????

Another analysis:

1 barrel crude oil = 159 liters.
46-47% of a barrel of crude oil = fuel that we use in our vehicles.
46% of 159 = 73.14 liters.
@ RM 2.70/liter x 73.14 liter = RM197.48 of fuel per barrel of crude oil.
This is only 46% of the barrel, mind you. Using RM 3.30 = USD 1, we get
that a barrel of crude oil produces USD 59.84 worth of petrol fuel (46% of
1barrel).
USD 59.84 of USD 130/barrel turns out to be 46% of a barrel as well.

Another 54% = bitumen, kerosene, and natural gases and so many more.
And this makes a balance of USD 70.16 that has not been accounted for.

So this is where I got curious. Where is the subsidy if we are paying 46%
of the price of a barrel of crude oil when the production of petrol/barrel
of crude oil is still only 46%?

In actual fact, we still pay for this as they are charged in the forms of
fuel surcharge by airlines and road taxes for the building of road (because
they use the tar/bitumen) and many more excuse charging us but let us just
leave all that out of our calculations.

As far as I know, only the politicians who live in Putrajaya and come for
their Parliament meetings in Kuala Lumpur (approximately 60+ km) are the
ones to gain as they claim their fuel and toll charges from the money of
the RAKYAT's TAX.

It is so disappointing to see this happen time and time again to the
Malaysian public, where they are deceived by the propaganda held by the
politicians and the controls they have over the press.

Which stupid idiot economist equates rebates for rich or poor with the cc
of the vehicles? An average office clerk may own a second hand 1300cc
proton Iswara costing $7,000 (rebate = $625) while the Datuk's children can
own a fleet of 10 new cars of BMW, Audi and Volvo all less than 2000cc
costing $2 millions and get a total rebate of $625 x 10 = $6,250! Wow what
kind of economists we are keeping in Malaysia...wonder which phD
certificate that they bought from...

Misleading concept of Subsidy:

The word "subsidy" has been brandished by the BN government as if it
has so
generously helped the rakyat and in doing so incurred losses. This simple
example will help to explain the fallacy:

Example:
Ahmad is a fisherman. He sells a fish to you at $10 which is below the
market value of $15. Let's assume that he caught the fish from the
abundance of the sea at little or no cost. Ahmad claims that since the
market value of the fish is $15 and he sold you the fish for $10, he had
subsidised you $5 and therefore made a loss of $5.

Question : Did Ahmad actually make a profit of $10 or loss of $5 which he
claimed is the subsidy?

Answer:
Ahmad makes a profit of $10 which is the difference of the selling price
($10) minus the cost price ($0 since the fish was caught from the abundance
of the sea). There is no subsidy as claimed by Ahmad.

The BN government claims that it is a subsidy because the oil is kept and
treated as somebody else's property (you know who). By right, the oil
belongs to all citizens of the country and the government is a trustee for
the citizens. So as in the above simple example, the BN government cannot
claim that it has subsidised the citizen!

Assalamualaikum Tun,

Bilangan kenderaan sangat banyak. Jam sana sini. Saya paling tidak suka bawa kereta kat KL. Terutama time jam.Time hujan lebat. Banjir kilat sana sini.

Pengangkutan Bas KL masih kurang cekap. Saya rindukan time bas mini.

Kasihan. Tapi itulah balasannya. Malu besar Pak Lah. Dalam konon BN elok tiada krisis, SAPP nak buat undi tak percaya kat Pak Lah.

Apa komen Pak Lah? Macam biasa. Dia kata SAPP keluar BN tak jejaskan BN. Dia tetap Perdana menteri.

Kita tungguuuuuu........

Takbirr.....!!!!

Pak Lah! Cepat la serahkan kuasa tu pada Pak najib tu....nak selamatkan UMNO dan BN takkkk...??? Tak rugi kalu serah cepat ni..banyak hikmahnya UMNO dan BN dapat nanti...percayalah...Pak Lah dah tak boleh nak jaringkan gol lagi tau...lima jari kaki sudah hilang daa....bagi Pak Najib pulak lah jaringkan gol..

The other remaining politicians will then ask Anwar Ibrahim for bigger $$ should he still want them to move over to PR by Sep 2008.

I am not going to touch on the political side of Rapid KL but would like to highlight the inefficiency of our public transport especially the bus services in Klang Valley. The operators can buy another 10,000 buses but if they do not know how to manage the simple basic of bus routes ,the problem will never be solved.
At the moment ,buses are stopping at too many destinations along the way to the City in order to maximise the ticket collections thus making a simple trip from say Kepong to KL (actually the distance is so near)about one and a half hour to two hours. This is because it covers such a long routes ( I dont need to details it as all who uses the bus knows this )
The operator might think this will maximise profits but in actual fact they are loosing countless passengers. I only use this service twice and I swear will never use it again. The point here is the people who plan the routes must have a much much much more common sense on this. Remember when mini buses are around during the Eighties, even though there are problems but look at their way of organising their routes. If the present operator cant think of a better way maybe they should look back to the mini bus way as a guidance.
Eg-Instead of 30 buses covering point a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i and so on say 40 stops. It should be 5 buses covering only 10 stops and straight to City via expressway etc. When travelling time is cut down ,you can be sure of tripling or more the present bus users.
Frankly our public transport system is a total failure for the all the budgets spend over the years, its such an embarassment, dont you agree Tun ?? Komuter ,another big disaster for the kind of money spent.
I believe most Malaysian knows including you Tun,that corruption at all level of implementation in our country has led to these sub standard work and services all these years. And favourism and croynism has bred a generation of low quality adminstrators (of course with the exception of you.Your level of intelligence and charisma is exceptional)
That the low quality of delivery is the price the nation pays when meritocracy are not practised.

TUN,

Now its their turn to be striked for they
sucking their neighbors's minerals for their own good for the past 45 years.

Some of the Malays said the movement was 'kacang lupakan kulit'
Well, I shoud say nice accusation.
What does the Malay call those peoples who are robbing their neighbors' properties 24 hours a day for the past 45 years?
Those bad characters in the government should be put in justice.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, sebenarnya, Tun telah pun memberi isyarat dan penerangan mengenai kegagalan Barisan Nasional di bawah pentadbiran Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Kegagalan Barisan Nasional

BERNAMA melaporkan

Teck Lee tamak – PM

KL MONORAIL(MTrans)

I WAS THE FORMER DIRECTOR OF KL MONORAIL, A PROJECT WHICH HAD LEFT ME WITH TONS OF DEBTS TIL TODAY.

TUN, I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A SOME COMMENTS AND A FEW CORRECTIONS IN YOUR LATEST POSTING.

YES, ITS TRUE YOUR INDONESIAN SON-IN-LAW EDDY NEVER WAS THE CEO OF MTRANS. HE WAS WORKING "WITH" THE COMPANY, YES ITS TRUE. HE WAS HELPFUL.

I MUST CONFESS THAT WITHOUT YOUR POLITICAL WILL, THE KL MONORAIL IS JUST ANOTHER PROJECT THAT NEVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY. THE SAME GOES TO OTHER PROJECTS LIKE STAR-LRT, PUTRA-LRT, KLIA, CYBERJAYA OR THE HIGHWAYS AND MANY MANY MORE.

AS PROMOTER OF SUCH PROJECT, MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK WE MAKE MILLIONS. THESE PEOPLE FAIL TO REALISED THAT SUCH PRIVATISED PROJECTS, WE AS PROMOTERS HAVE TO BORROW HEAVILY(MILLIONS OF RINGGIT) JUST TO RAISE OUR CAPITAL BEFORE BANKS WILL LEND US THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION COSTS.

PROJECTS SUCH AS MONORAIL HAVE A VERY LONG GESTATION PERIOD AND WE CONSTANTLY IN NEED OF GOVERNMENT AND BANKERS SUPPORT.

OUR INVESTMENTS INTO SETTING-UP A MONORAIL PLANT AND TESTING FACILITIES RUNS INTO MILLIONS OF RINGGIT BEFORE GOVERNMENT FINALLY GIVE THE GO-AHEAD WITH THE KL MONORAIL PROJECT.

IT WAS NEVER A EASY PROJECT AND WE AS PROMOTERS LOST MILLIONS, REPEAT, LOST MILLIONS OF RINGGIT!

TUN, YOU WANTED MALAYSIAN TO BE PROUD THAT WE HAVE OUR OWN MONORAIL TECHNOLOGY. WE WERE THE ONLY THREE MANUFACTURERS IN THE WORLD. WE DELIVERED.

TUN,
KL MONORAIL (MTRANS) WAS TAKEN OVER BY PRASARANA NOT KHAZANAH ONLY IN LATE DECEMBER 2007 AFTER THEY JUST CANNOT REPAY THE LOANS.

IF KL MONORAIL WAS MEANT TO SHOWCASING MALAYSIAN MONORAIL TECHNOLOGY TO THE WHOLE WORLD, I MUST SAY WE WE QUITE SUCCESSFUL. WE HAD VISITS AND ENQUIRIES FROM ALL CORNERS OF THE WORLD THEN. SEVERAL HEADS OF STATE EVEN RIDE THE KL MONORAIL.

THE WORLD WERE AMAZED THAT SUCH A SMALL COUNTRY LIKE MALAYSIA COULD DEVELOP A PEOPLE-MOVER SYSTEM THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!

WE WERE NOT PROFITABLE THEN BECAUSE REVENUE FROM TICKETS SALES WAS NEVER ENOUGH EVEN TO COVER THE INTEREST REPAYMENTS. THE GOVERNMENT UNDER DR.M RECOGNISED THAT NO RAIL-BASED BUSINESS ANYWHERE MAKE MONEY WITHOUT GOVERNMENT SUPPORT AND SUBSIDIES.

EVEN BOEING WILL NOT MAKE MONEY IF THEY JUST SOLD ONLY ONE 747.

THEN PAK LAH GOVERNMENT CHANGED EVERYTHING. OUR ON-GOING PROJECTS WERE TERMINATED.

AS WE WERE MAKING SMALL PROGRESS ON SELLING OUR MALAYSIAN MONORAIL TECHNOLOGY TO INTERESTED OVERSEAS MARKET, OUR OWN PUTRAJAYA MONORAIL WAS TERMINATED AND PAYMENT WITHHELD. THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP THAT FOLLOWED CAUSED US TO DEFAULT ON OUR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS ON KL MONORAIL.

SOONAFTER, WE WERE KIND OF HELD AT RANSOM TO SELL OUR PRIZED ASSET WHICH WAS OUR MTRAN MONORAIL PLANT AND TESTING/RESEARCH FACILITY AT RAWANG TO THE NEW OWNER: "SCOMI".
EVERYBODY KNOWS SCOMI BELONGS TO SO-AND-SO!

SCOMI IS NOW THE NEW OWNER OF THE MONORAIL MALAYSIA TECHNOLOGY WHICH WAS THE BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS OF THE ORIGINAL PROMOTERS.

EVEN SCOMI DO NOT WANT TO OPERATE THE MONORAIL AND THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED TO "SELL" THE TECHNOLOGY.

THIS CAN EASILY SEEN WHEN THEY SUBMITTED THE RM3BILLION PENANG MONORAIL PROPOSAL THRU MRCB(I.E. MRCB OPERATE; NOT SCOMI).

TUN, YOUR INTEREST IN BRINGING THE TECHNOLOGY TO OUR SHORES SUCH AS MONORAIL JUST TO MAKE MALAYSIAN PROUD AND TO EXPORT OUR TECHNOLOGY SPEAKS VOLUMES OF YOUR FORESIGHT.

I MUST CONFESS, AS THE ORIGINAL INITIATOR OF KL MONORAIL PROJECT, I WAS PROUD THAT WE DELIVERED THE MALAYSIAN MONORAIL ALBEIT TO MY OUR SELF DETRIMENT.

AS YOUR SO-CALLED CRONY, I LOST MILLIONS INSTEAD OF MAKING JUST SOME.

MR. NOMORAIL

Leadership by example. Being accountable to men and to Tuhan.

I prefer the monorail or any light rail system or commuter to other modes of public transport. Unless something big happens, I can count on them probably more than 90 % of the times. The monorail in K.L. runs from Sentral to Titiwangsa. This is the only system with the word monorail used. The heaviest traffic is in the Bukit Bintang and surrounding area. Heaviest in the sense that it can be sardine packed with passengers. Sometimes I wonder if there can be more monorails. So if it is sardine packed, I assume that the company should be making profits.

From K.L. city to Putrajaya by cab, it will be RM 100 per trip. That is a lot. But if one fine day, there is a rail system and it costs a few ringgits, I think more people would be visiting Putrajaya. Putrajaya as of now is a place one would go to if one has some dealings there. If not, people would just prefer to stay put in K.L. city.

At the press conference, the Prime Minister said that he does not want to do anything yet. In one newspaper, the P.M. accuses the SAPP for being greedy. Prior to the announcement of no confidence by SAPP, the government has delivered a lot of goodies to Sabah. The SAPP has their own internet site. Among the many issues is the long standing, unresolved illegal immigrant issue. All the former political leaders had to come for the emergency meeting. The MCA was supposed to meet on their own regarding their snoop squad issue but had to cancel it.

I read one of the comments here to your post on Judge Ian. It talks about the Chineses coming back from western countries and their political thoughts being different. This cannot be applied to all Chineses. Chineses who have never been to anywhere personally experience the unfairness. If it is so true about western education, how come Malay students who are sent to western countries for western education come back but still support the government ?

Dear Che Det,

I give you a big clap! If what you are saying about bringing in the technology to enable Malaysian to produce it's own monorail infrastructure is true. A modern, efficient and advance public transport system is the only way towards a less congested city in the future for all countries.

However, being a staunchly critic of you I am, isn't the bailing out of MTrans by the government also allows MTrans to prevent losses of its capital invested for the project? Thus, with tax payer's hard earned money being used to cover the purchase of diminished valued of MTrans property?

Perhaps more details on the amount paid for the assets of MTrans is better off if you insist that the government did not bail out MTrans, as mention in your article.

About your comment on SAPP, you have finally acknowledged that it is the power of the people that Barisan Nasional ignored, played down and still continue to ignore to this day is and will be the cause of their failure.

You have made me a happier person tonight.

You have a nice day, Sir.

Hmm. It seems that after Tun step down, Abdullah government are cancelling on going projects that caused many companies to go bankrupt and at the same time throw a damn lot of hard earned public money down the drain. I though Penang guys are thrifty buggers. We got one here that like to burnt public money. What a ...

Pak Lah will never step down until it is too late. He will then hand over the opposition leader job to Najib. That's what going to happen. No buts about it. BN is getting nearer to being kaput. Pak Lah will be remembered for ending BN domination in Malaysia politics single handedly.

Janganlah 'Act Blur' je wahai tuan YAB DSPM. Jangan takut turun pangkat.

p/s B: ooo, tak nak bagi yaa... ok, bye-bye! i got another appointment anyway... buuuurrrp!

Dear Tun,

Below are my two questions (if you have time to answer it):-

1) Is SAPP issue will cause a chain reaction effect to others component parties in BN?

2) I read your comment in Utusan regarding SAPP action and 2 teams in Pembangkang team, will this makes the transition of power becoming more complex?

Thanks.

Salam Tun,

Izinkan saya menyatakan apakah maksud ``mamak' sebenar??

cuba lihatlah Teng Pek King, Vincent Tan, Ananda, Tan Sri Tajuddin Ramli.

Tanjong Jara Beach Hotel, Terengganu; Avillion Village Resort, Admiral Cove Marina and Hotel, Port Dickson; and the Hotel Seri Malaysia franchise operations. banyak lagi ... yang ada sangkut dengan politik.

Begitu juga kenapa adanya cyberjaya?? apakah matlamat TUN
-- Inilah kera kerja Mokhzani,
telemedicine contract for Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor project.
- Tongkah holding telah mengambil berapa banyak project kerajaan??
- PhileoAllied Bank
- Pantai Holdings
- Paos Holdings
Lim Kiat Siang menyatakan :Mirzan Mahathir owns 95 companies, claiming that in most of those companies, his son is a director without salary.
-why is it necessary for the government through Petronas to bail out his companies, running into hundreds of millions of ringgit, as in the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation?
