It is very convenient and its schedule is very frequent. The seats are comfortable for ordinary citizen like me. The most important thing is I do not have to worry about being caught in the traffic jam.

Fortunately, my house and office are within walking distance to the stations. With RM100 monthly pass, I get to use it without limit on Putra and STAR trains. Perhaps, it is only made possible because both are under same management, RAPID KL.

However, I wonder why KL Monorail is not part of the fare package. I know that they are under separate managements. But, don't they talk to each other to come up with some combined fare packages for commuters who need to use them?

I have bought many one day tickets or a monthly passes in other foreign countries which can get me to travel on all public transporters eventhough they are under separate management! Where is the spirit of Malaysia Boleh?

Fortunately, I also do not have to take RAPID KL buses for my onward connections. However, I have heard many negative comments from by LRT buddies about them. Not punctual, rude drivers and aircond not functioning to name a few! What is the use of buying new buses if attitude of the drivers is not right, maintenance of vehicles is not kept properly and worst of all, punctuality is always consistently inconsistent?

I have also noticed that in many LRT stations, they are not user friendly towards disabled citizens. There is no elevator and wheelchair ramp for this group of commuters. So, when the government talks about fairness to all the citizens, please look into issues first!

I must congratulate you for your bold and brave decision to built the LRT, Monorail and ERL for Kuala Lumpur. With these projects in place, ordinary citizens like me can avoid traffic jam, travel in peace and able to reach office on time!

Unfortunately, after winning big in 2004 election, your appointed successor Pak Lah did not continue to built and improve this kind of public projects anymore. He just stopped and did nothing.

LRT network and routes could have been expanded and extended to cover areas like Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Selayang, inner part of Gombak, Kepong and Puchong. It would be much better if the routes could cut through areas populated with lower and middle income neighbourhood. We must remember these areas are Malay majority.

Only then BN government could claim to be 'mesra rakyat', 'kerajaan untuk rakyat' and 'pemimpin berjiwa rakyat'. Perhaps, this could be one of many reasons why BN lost these areas to opposition in the last election!

I have also heard that monorail project in Putrajaya has stopped half way. What actually happened? This really reflects bad image to Putrajaya as administrative capital of this nation!

And what about promises to built better public transportation system in other states like Penang, Perak and Selangor before the last election? If Pak Lah had fulfilled his promises, those states could still be under BN!

Pak Lah must wake up from his sleep and start thinking about his promises. Otherwise, he must go and let someone else does his job! We must remember if rakyat hate Pak Lah, UMNO and BN will suffer in the coming election. Then, there is no point talking about promises anymore!

To you Dr, keep on fighting for the betterment of the Malays and Malaysia.

buka lah mata rakyat2 Malaysia sekalian.
kiat ynag sengsaraxxxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16397288581277882025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-66345530059288679912008-06-17T15:23:00.000+08:002008-06-17T15:23:00.000+08:00Where our money?Singapore and brunei richer than u...Where our money?Singapore and brunei richer than us.. we can be like them if our leader is smart!just wait and see then..The next ellection i'll be vote the only one qualified!Rakyat sudah pandai.. wake up guys!:-)yong_azazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07209260301124033875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-40858412057929383882008-06-17T00:35:00.000+08:002008-06-17T00:35:00.000+08:00Naikkan harga minyak..konon nak kurangkan subsidi....Naikkan harga minyak..konon nak kurangkan subsidi.. subsidi kate nak buat pembangunan.. pembangunan ape? duit subsidi rakyat yang punya.. duit tak halal bagi anak makan..patut muka cepat kerepot.. kalau susah sangat nak letak jawatan..mintak rakyat doakan supaya mati cepat.. baru dosa tak banyak..Tuyanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06332062790028359869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-19135752344711249302008-06-16T05:46:00.000+08:002008-06-16T05:46:00.000+08:00Here's an interesting factoid: apparently Intrakot...Here's an interesting factoid: apparently Intrakota serviced 98 routes with 39 feeder services from LRT stations. Assuming a factor of 3 buses per route, that would give us about 450 buses total. From Cityline SPNB took over 347 buses.

Total: 800 buses, give or take.

Number of abandoned buses found by Malay Mail reporters: about 1,000.

But here's the clincher: they were all -- if not mainly -- of the Iveco model made by DRB-Hicom for Intrakota! (I remember well that Cityliner used different, crappier buses.)

From this, it would seem that RapidKL/SPNB had dumped all of the Intrakota fleet. To be replaced by what?

Buses made in China "newly purchased by RapidKL"! (Malay Mail, quoted by The New Paper, 23 May 2008). My, how the mind boggles.

1. So there WAS a second open tender for buses made by SPNB after all, it would seem.

2. Also, it would seem that RapidKL has some leeway in making bus purchases (unless the newspaper report has confused RapidKL and SPNB).

And let's not forget that at about the same timeframe there was also the sale of KL Monorail to SPNB. And guess who's in the business of building and supplying monorail systems?Ruhayat Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01266673988187025383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-53884781335677312052008-06-16T05:27:00.000+08:002008-06-16T05:27:00.000+08:00Interesting affair, this RapidKL-Scomi business. F...Interesting affair, this RapidKL-Scomi business. From a cursory glance, the Stephen Doss list seems incomplete. Further questions that need to be answered:

1. Does RapidKL, as the operator, have a say in ordering the number of buses it requires in order to operate efficiently? If so, how much influence would its operations/projections have on SPNB?

2. In other words, what, exactly, is SPNB's roles and responsibilities over RapidKL?

3. How many buses in total did MTrans deliver to SPNB?

4. How many more buses were delivered by MTrans/Scomi after the takeover in April 2006?

5. When were the abandoned buses abandoned?

6. How many of the original buses are currently abandoned?

7. Did SPNB issue a second tender after the one in 1995? This would seem likely, given that:
a) the operational lifetime of the initial Scandinavian-made buses were said to be 10 years.
b) by 2003 (before takeover by Scomi) it was reported that the buses formerly purchased by Intrakota were already breaking down.

8. If so, when was this new tender opened? Before or after MTrans was acquired by Scomi? And how many of these new buses have been ordered?

Once I've had a more thorough read of the documents I have, perhaps there could be more questions to be raised.Ruhayat Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01266673988187025383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-6318654455936266092008-06-15T21:48:00.000+08:002008-06-15T21:48:00.000+08:00Dear Tun, Do correct me if i m wrong... And thats what the current government try to do with the malaysian. They try to make joke at our daily life & they're insulting us!!

To me what Datuk Shahrir is trying to show us is that, what the Govt did (hike in petrol price, increase of daily goods, use public transport more frequent etc.)is the correct thing to do, it is necessary and its a manageable situation. And rakyat should accept it & do not object.

To me its just a lame action & excuse!!!

Jangan hangat-hangat 'tahi kambing' sudah (which I doubt it is)!!! Shame on you! MTrans owns bus manufacturer MTRans Bus Sdn Bhd and MTRans Technology Bhd, which specialises in monorail systems and technology. This is, of course, for the Penang monorail project.

So the five-time hike in petroleum prices over the 2 year on the pretext of improving public transportation is certainly benefitting same parties - Scomi Engineering, to be specific.

What have you done to improve the public transportation in Kuala Lumpur since then? The LRT is still madly congested and the city buses are still breaking down in the middle of already congested roads.
3.Scomi Group Bhd, an oil services company, secured contract from Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd to provide drilling fluids and other services for exploration works in Block 1, offshore Turkmenistan.

With all these projects, and more to come under your brilliantly devised Ninth Malaysia Plan, why does ABB son have to go overseas to secure projects? Well, I know that Turkmenistan is in central Asia, but the contract was secured here in Kuala Lumpur from Petronas.Dont we know you Bohong by telling tidak tahu?

The public transportation system in city mostly controlled by few top UMNO guys,We heard taxi driver always say-10 of thousand of permit taxi are own by corporate company, and who behind that corporate are highly connected to certain politic peoples, this always a close friend to ministry, taxi fare will go up,they rent taxi from corporate daily, now sure corporate will increase the rent, and last put on rakyat pocket who use it,simple as that,a total economic of corrupt practiced pyramid parasite system.

We rakyat did less argue ABB family crony benefit from Petronas projects oversea or local KL Rapid, but with new price hike of fuel, food, transport, rakyat angered by incredibility of ABB managing country finance, with no intention of increased wages pay, rakyat will fight back and reject BN.We now want where Petronas money go,for saving ABB GIFT for reduced subsidy can collected 10Billions from rakyat blood money, instead of waiting Aug,to buy back Sabah Sarawak MPs 1 B each state with Politic Contracts to prevent they jump ship to PR,and buy all ketua bahagian votes for stay as UMNO president, isn’t it also part of our rakyat blood money? Why should we need you to stay, you will raise more fuel hike, that how you managed perjuangan rakyat Malaysia to more pain angered living cost.defuhrerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10548375864785926404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-29689127512254707612008-06-14T19:21:00.000+08:002008-06-14T19:21:00.000+08:00Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, ada rakan bertanyakan per...Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, ada rakan bertanyakan perihal blog Pak Lah.

Warkahuntukpm pula, the domain has expired.

Sementara itu Forum Wakil Rakyat Malaysia:

FOWRAM diilhamkan penubuhannya oleh YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Perdana Menteri Malaysia selaras dengan falsafah kerjanya “bekerja bersama saya"

Terakhir dikemaskini (Thursday, 01 November 2007 )

Begitulah, bila menjelang pilihanraya, calon pun tersenyum datang cari jumpa kita, salam tunduk macam nak cium tangan kita. Why can't Rapid KL be more cost concious.... instead of getting new buses, they should manage with old buses. Don't simply increase fares when you have not done enough to keep cost low.

We should be putting all the buses back on the street to help the rakyat and build a better transportation infrastructure. The government should encourage the rakyat to use the public transportation if they feel Rapid KL is very efficient. But I think that is not the case.

I vote for Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down and make way for new PM to take over before it is too late. I also vote for all Scomi projects to be cancelled (So Badawi and his son can feel what is it like to cancel the new Jhr - Sg Bridge).

Cheers,
Dr Chico the Great
http://drchicothegreat.blogspot.com/Dr Chico the Greathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10848844460416266704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-57032455496512283932008-06-14T05:40:00.000+08:002008-06-14T05:40:00.000+08:00What a waste. Pick the bus, the bus bring u to the Putra Station, take the train, reach the destination..what a smooth journey..

Keadaan sekarang, keluar rumah, menapak 300-600 meter, tunggu pula bas Putra datang, tak tentu ikut nasib..then naik bas baru smp Putra..Masa?? +-25 minit just to get to Putra Station..hidyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04097233840358410171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-26252045543991958932008-06-13T15:58:00.000+08:002008-06-13T15:58:00.000+08:00Dear Tun,Today's NST report stated that Syarikat P...Dear Tun,

Today's NST report stated that Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd had purchased 285 units of buses from Scomi Engineering out 1000 units for RapidKL through tender basis. The balance of the units was purchased and supplied by 5 or seven other companies.

I wonder on what basis Syarikat Prasarana awarded the contract to these companies. At what price? What are terms and conditions? What is the financing arrangement? Which other companies being awarded the contract other than Scomi? Is Scomi's price competitive? Why award to Scomi? What is the rational? Is there any conflict of interest knowing very well that Scomi is a company own by family members of the Prime Minister? It looks like the deal was not transparent at all. Is the unit price purchased a market price or INFLATED PRICE?
What is the total value of the contract? Was it done on an open tender system or close negotiation? Tun will always the best PM... long live TUN !PRO73https://www.blogger.com/profile/03676808526711927381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-79403833820834176862008-06-13T09:47:00.000+08:002008-06-13T09:47:00.000+08:00..dan saya sokong penuh komentar Saleha, tambah2 l.....dan saya sokong penuh komentar Saleha, tambah2 lagi ketika zaman gawat 97-98..qaLhahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08736428809463738977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220966807166570924.post-63696673023630583252008-06-13T09:40:00.000+08:002008-06-13T09:40:00.000+08:00PakLah oh PakLah..Aku cari bukan harta bertimbun-t...PakLah oh PakLah..

Aku cari bukan harta bertimbun-timbun
untuk hidup kaya
Aku cari bukan wang berjuta-juta
untuk hidup bergaya
Aku cari bukan kawan-kawan
untuk hidup berfoya-foya

..hmm..
